It comes down your own personal likes for these small cameras, I am very happy with the photo results. I can now put a small camera in my jacket pocket and go off road on my small trail bike. I used to take bigger cameras and they must take a beating on the back of my bike, G5X/2

Not owning a cell phone I needed a camera to keep in my pocket. I do have a Pentax Q system but the camera even with a 01 prime will not fit my pocket. I got an Olympus TG-6 which fits nice but the picture quality is not great and I figured it was a price to pay to get a camera in my pocket.

So I read about the Sony RX100's and ended up buying a Canon G5X mark 2. I am really happy with this camera, puts a whole lot of fun in my photography.

I have been using a "clearviewer" now for many years. Turns the little Q camera into a mini DSLR. You bring the camera up to your eye, your hand will block the top from sun, or you can wear a ball hat.
I have one on my Pentax K-01, Canon M100 and my Olympus TG-6 also. The glass is of very good quality and have no scratches.

Its great that the "Daily" is here for us varied camera users or just migrated to other systems. Other brand forums would have us forget our online friends and ride off into the sunset.
I changed brands just for the EVF as I can no longer focus a Pentax DSLR. Oly lets me zoom in and add different colour focus peaking, has amazing features. I also have a Canon Mirrorless APSC, which I find a little easier to use than my Oly gear and is the same size and even lighter. But Canon still has no IBIS, so M43 is still my go to. Best ever Pentax for me is my K-01, they should put an EVF on the thing.

Batteries

I have had two of my Older Pentax cameras die from "battery depleted", ist DS, and K200D. Both cameras would only give me around 25 to 50 shots on new batteries. Rechargeable and even the famous Eneloops were a waste of time. A search online will show many cases of this problem, some cameras can use an external power pack and it bypasses the (transistor?) problem of power build up needed to fire up the camera.
I have learnt to keep away from AA powered Pentax cameras. For an older Pentax camera that can found cheap I would go for a K10 that has its own batteries or better still a K5.

I am in,
Now a few questions for you all.
The body of the KP. metal or plastic? I was looking at the KP in silver and its about $200 cheaper than the black version. but silver plastic is just, well....no thanks.
Next would be a couple of nice lenses that are not screw drive, I was thinking the DA 16-85 and DA 55-300 PLM. 20-40 has me interested along with 100mm macro lens

I have the DA18-135 which is my 50/50 lens as half the shots dont turn out, only lens I have that does this. I am willing to rebuy in the hope I get a good version.

DA15, DA35,

All the rest are M, A, or noisy screw drives like my 16-45

My mother is fading away, so I will miss some time and posts dealing with official matters.

She is 95 now and has to be the last surviving miners widow from the mine disasters here.

Its OK guys, and has been expected for some time now.

While getting my Yellow Brick out for a run the other day I thought about trying some lenses I have not used for years. Out come the 50mm 1.8 and 32mm plastic fantastics. I have not heard the screw drive sounds for quite a while now being spoiled by my Ollies etc so I see no future use of these lenses for me.

So any "Dailies" who would like these lenses drop me a PM. This is an honest giveaway and they are in very good condition and clean glass.

For some examples, these were all shot using a Roxsen/Pixco focal reducer for PK. This example could not use DA lenses. This has a .66 multiplier and makes the lens one stop faster.
