The first thing I did when I got my LX was send it out to Eric Hendrickson for a CLA. Now I can be confident that it performs as well as it was designed to do.

Here's another anhinga, voicing its objection (with a loud growl) to my passing behind it on the boardwalk at Eustis, Florida. Its wingspan is 3-3.5 feet (about a meter). Anhinga by Noel Parsons, on Flickr

Taken at Lake Apopka North Shore Restoration Area with a K-5 II s, HD Pentax-DA 55-300 ED WR, and a Kiron MC7 2x Teleconverter (A mount). I've had the teleconverter for a couple of years, but hadn't tried it with a decent lens until now.

pbfarm, thanks for the great holiday shots with the 18-135--especially the one with the teddy bears. Merry Christmas to you, too!

Here's a shot with the DA 55-300 f/4-5.8 ED WR yesterday.

Thanks for the correction, Digitalis. You made it much clearer. I should revise my field of view statement to say that the focal length stays the same, but the field of view changes with the type of camera (APSC, full frame, 645, 67, etc.).

I withdraw my comment and advise the OP to take a look at the clearest explanation of the differences in crop factors: The Crop Factor Unmasked - Articles and Tips | PentaxForums.com.

The focal length and the field of view stay the same for any particular lens. What changes, when you change cameras, is the sensor (or film) size within that FOV.

The field of view of a 300mm 6x7 lens is about 16 degrees. Using the lens on a full-frame (35mm) camera would give you an image approximately the same as that of a 150mm FF lens. Using the lens on a 645z would give you an image approximately the same as that of a 190mm 645 lens.

In the last case, remember that a 645 digital sensor is smaller than a 6X4.5 film image. On a 645N or NII, the same 6x7 lens would give the approximate equivalent of a 240mm 645 lens.

Use of the Sigma DC 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 as an all-in-one tourist lens. These two shots were taken from a ship on the Rhine at 30mm and 200mm, respectively. The wide end could be a little sharper, but all-in-all, I was satisfied with the travel photos I took with it.

Germany Trip - Thoughts on Lens Combo?

I just got back from a Rhine River cruise. In prepping for the trip my aims were flexibility, reducing the weight of my carry-on camera bag, and eliminating as many lens changes as possible, so I took a Sigma 10-20, a Sigma 18-200, and a DL 35/2.4. I used the 18-200 almost exclusively, the 10-20 for a few interior shots, and the 35 not at all. My shooting plan was pretty much the same as yours (sans concerts), although I did miss 300mm for a few birding ops I ran into. So based on my experience I think you'll find your WRs generally the most useful on the list.

Yes, my K-01 is equipped with the Adaptist multimount. Close focus isn't the problem with Nikon lenses, it's infinity. The Nikon LFD is 1.04 mm longer than Pentax's, so I shim out the Nikkor mount ring 0.8-0.9mm (the thickest small washers I can get locally). That gives infinity focus at all but the widest apertures and also moves the mount ring out flush with the edge of the aperture ring.

Understandable. That's why I do my adapting with the K-01. My K-5 IIs is my all-weather body.

I'd love to have some of my lenses silvered by dcshooter. They are beautiful. But I already have one stock lens with silver rings that goes nicely with my K-01.

Closeup with a Konica Hexanon AR 135mm f/3.2. I wasn't real happy with the focus on this shot, but apparently other people like it.
