i hope the sensor doesn't pass the 30MP barrier or else the noise performance might be crap..

and if you think about it and stop thinking about your dreams, and listen well to the pentax representatives... they talk about the pro market, and the best feartures to be on the 645 system... so that's their pro, high end megapixel crappola if you might say so,
and you can confirm that because when people start asking/begging for bigger flash sync on the APCS/FF DSLR's they cleverly respond:
"we're developing more leaf shutter lenses"
and we know where those belong.. (645)
launching a ff with an 50mp sensor would be shoting themselves in the foot.

24mp would be perfect, high iso performance, high frame rate, and fast focus.. if you really want to print big and do fine art, you're a seller/printer, and if you're a seller/printer you ahve more than enough for a nice 645 system...
you don't need 50megapixeis for family trips, for soccer pics, for cat pics, for "omg look a flower" pics.. you just dont.

there's this great photographer from france, he's a user here in our foruns, i totaly forgot his name.. he has some samples on the k20 (14mp) and his photographs look amazing.. it's not about the megapixels folks, please lets distuinguish ourselves from the other market (canikon)

pentax is a serious brand and should be treated like it deserves, you should all stop dreaming and thinking of it as a "Make a wish" foundation.

it probably won't have 4k, or even fullframe at 60fps. heck! they will put a video mode in it because of marketing, but they will know it will suck, and it will be intended.pentax is a serious photography brand, not some tranvestite canon "do it all but crappy" kind of thing.
Want a photo camera and a video camera? get an iphone.

i rather have a tool that will stand the tests of time and last for half a decade or even more, than to have something so that i can show off to my canikons friends ate the next nerd photowalk.

the PROFESSIONAL market, the REAL professional market use medium format, you guys should stop really dreaming the new pentax, because it's fullframe, that it will be aimed at those markets... pentax alredy reigns the PRO-Market, and that is the 645Z (vs hasselblad and phaseone)
again, everytime people start asking/talking about "professional market"
pentax gives us the same; talk about 645 system.

check the link for a portrait, two days ago. if i had 50megapixeis or a k3, would tis picture look better?... we all know it wouldn't... pentax is not about being technical and top notch, pentax is like the Apple of the cameras, they don't have the best specs comparing to pc's, but they are more functional and design oriented.

Look at the pentax cameras and the position of the buttons throughtout the years, and compare it to a canon/nikon model... pentax design is flawless..

if less megapixeis means less noise, more range and more batery life... who really cares?...

For a moment i honestly thought i would get bashed or something, thank you for sharing your understanding and also support.

Just another visual comparsion of the same field of view under diferent focal lenghts, so everyone can compare how it changes your subject, and for the most caring eye, dramaticly.

if you like how your photographs come out witht he optical compreension of the 50mm you wil surely be disapointed with a 35mm.

people always talk about the field fo view you get with a 35 (the same as 50mm on A FULL FRAME) but in my most humble opinion that's one thing that only people that take snapshots care about, it's not really about the field of view but the compression of the subjects, for instance.. with that 35mil f2.4 you could get mor fo your subject on the screen, but since the 35 mil is not a lens for portraits, due it's optical formula, your subject wouldn't look as good as it would with the 50mil

35 mil tend to bloat people.

so.. if you like the feeling, the sensitivity of your photographs on the 50mil and are thinking of buying the 35mil to get more in the picture and yet keep the feeling of the 50mil, im really sorry but that's not going to happend.

i feel for that as i bought a 35mm smc-m f2.8, it is my sharpest lens yet, but the things i photograph come out alot diferent than they would with a 50mm

ofr instance....

uggly at 35mm if u ask me :p

another 35(left) vs 50(right) mm

check out her nose, it's all over the place. no one like having a big nose.

This one, model at the same size (same field of view for your subject)
but see how diferent she looks..

i hope this was helpfull, happy clicks :)

By snapshots i m ean work's for the internet, works for showing online, not large prints.
the focus ring on a 35 vs a 50 mil is totaly diferent, on the 50 i can focus @ 10meters, on the 35mm for instance after 4.5 meters it's the infinite mark, and like someone said, if you step back you get thinner DOF.

that's the reason why i also think aps-c is a learning format and can get you awsome shots, but it's doesn't compare to a full frame
and i've been shootign in fullframe pentax again, for the last couple of months and wheni pick up my k20d the crop makes it feel like a child's toy, not trying to understimate my best friend (k20d) but it sure feels like that.. :)

Do you tape or paint your camera's logo and type?

This is my k20d
first, and like i said on this thread earlier, i used duct tape, but since there's been alot of rain here and its low budget duct tape it comes off with the rain, so i decided to use one of those markers to write on cd's, me and all of you can see the writing because WE know what we're looking at, but peeping eyes won't see a thing, because it's unknown to them, also... the fact i cover all the stuff it's because it gives me training and confidence as i know by hand where all the buttons are, and i think as an exercise to memorize your camera, whether it's pentax or canikon, is to do this. it really helps, i now can navigate the camera almost like it's a piece of my arm.
all the sides are painted to, the SD card door and all other stuff.
i even wear a low-key strap that says pentax in really tiny letters, faded, i got it from an old camera shop and it's probably from an original pentax camera (if anyone can identify it, it would be my pleasure to know)

i just don't cover the dial button because it goes around and around and there's no way to memorize how many clicks to this or to that (lcd off most of the times)
please don't judge me because i cover the pentax logo, it's not shame, it's actually pride on my work and my photographs.
i have reasons to do such things as i was denied freelance jobs in the past for not using canon or nikon, a story i will gladly tell later as it is very intresting and a victory to the pentax community.
so here are some webcam pictures of my k20d equipped with my sharpest lens, the smc-m 35mm f2.8

again, you can see and notice the logo because it's being reflected by the screen light and it's about 15 centimeters from the camera, unless a persons gets that close to me (and i doubt that will happen) they will never see my gear :)

LOL i love how you associate nikon users with being criminals or whatever ahhahaha i actually lolled!
