My heart sinks when I see DPD in the dispatch email. They have one saving grace where you can track the driver so if you are quick you can intercept them before they go to the wrong address.
One time I was expecting DPD to collect a damaged subwoofer (damaged by them) and deliver a replacement at the same time. When the driver arrived to collect I could see no sign of the replacement so asked him if he had a delivery for me. The answer was no. Two minutes later I got an email saying my parcel had been delivered. To the house round the corner who just happened to have about 5 other parcels delivered so didn't immediately notice an extra box weighing 20kg.
DPD deliveries are stressful.[emoji3]

Hmm just looked at their website and "good" condition is only two steps above "inoperable". I wouldn't like to see a "fair" condition camera.

What music are you currently listening to?

Is it a collaboration with Gary Numan? I can't find any confirmation. Another track on the same album was co-written with Numan and a cover of a Numan song also appears on the album but Johnny and Mary seems to be written solely by Robert Palmer.

Question About a review

Where the review says

Cons:strange macro mode, start at 35mm

I think it is making two separate points.
1. For some reason he thinks the macro mode is strange (not sure why)
2. 35mm is not really wide enough to be used for wide angle work.

The main text of the review states that macro is only available at the maximum focal length.

Ken Rockwell on Subwoofers

It can be a good idea to have two subwoofers but it certainly is not because low bass is mixed in stereo.

Ken Rockwell on Subwoofers

Reassuring to see Ken Rockwell knows as much about audio as he does about photography.
https://kenrockwell.com/audio/stereo-subwoofers.htm
Most articles I have seen written by professional sound engineers say low bass is still mixed to centre but Ken reckons it has been mixed in stereo since 1982.

Is This Jpg Somehow Better (Recovery) Than It's RAW Version?

If raw files contain 14 bits of data per channel and jpeg files contain 8 bits then I cannot understand your theory that a 100 quality jpeg is not lossy. Unless those extra 6 bits contain no data which seems very unlikely.

The post you quoted didn't say that the DR was the same at 100 ISO and say 400 ISO.
He said the DR of the 400 ISO image would be the same as the DR of a 100 ISO image pushed 2 stops.

Just tried calibration on my Mefoto Globetrotter with the legs retracted and in some ways it is actually easier than without the tripod. By holding the legs the camera can be moved more smoothly through the motions. This will be my method from now on. [emoji3]

Long Exposure and Filters??

If you are taking long exposures in daylight using an ND filter make sure that you cover the viewfinder. If you don't it is quite likely that light leakage will ruin your images. I just use a folded piece of light card inserted under the rubber viewfinder surround.

That's the way we were taught in the UK. It still annoys me now when I see cars sitting in a traffic queue with brake lights on particularly on an incline. 9 times out of 10 they roll back before moving off.

They are Spuggies in the North East of England. By the way I googled Spadger and found a completely different meaning.
