Mike,
I have the battery grip. I thought it would make handholding the DA 300mm lens steady. The nice thing about it, is mine came with an extra large grip for the KP to match the contour of the battery grip. What a bonus. I never took that off. That itself helped a lot. Otherwise, I took the battery grip off, and will use it if I go on a long vacation, for the extra power with the larger battery. As far as the KP's design, I think Pentax got it right from the start. It's a super nice, well built little camera to go along with the K-1. I never thought that I would buy another cmos body again, but I like it.

If UncleVana will take it, you can rest in peace. He fixed my DA 200, and I now absolutely love it. The screwdrive is fast and accurate. I'll do the same if my DA 300 acts up.

I disagree, entirely. It's a wonderful lens to use on whatever is important to you. You won't regret buying it. Prices are lower than they've been in the past.

Well, Mike,
I guess all ultra wide have their issues. I really like the colors from the 12-24. I guess that was the deciding factor, for me.

I would like to have the 11-18 too, but I'm just not that committed to crop sensor bodies. I just ordered the 12-24, today. It's supposed to be a pretty nice lens. Next is the Irix 11 for both bodies. I love Irix lenses.

Hi Sandy,
How do you like your 20-40? Do you happen to have the DA 12-24? If so, what are your thoughts? I'm thinking about that one, now. It will be to go along with my 20-40.

I would send it back. Someone has had that screw out, and overnighted it when putting it back in. There's just too many good deals on KPs in beautiful condition. For me, that's part of the pleasure of having a nice camera.

Mike, you are exactly right. That's what I do, even while shooting with my DA 200, and DA 300 lenses. When I started do that, I suddenly fell in love with my KP.

Forget the battery grip. I bought one, and don't even use it. Makes the KP too bulky.

I think any two part epoxy that you can pick up at Lowe's will work. Just choose your working time. Scuff the bonding area and wipe it clean.

I'm going from the Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 to the Pentax 12-24. I find that there's way too much distortion at 10mm, so I don't need 10 anymore. The 12-24 is a nice lens.

You sure are making nice use of your 43mm Limited. I underestimated mine from the beginning. I liked the 31 and 77 when I bought the three. I need to spend some time with it.
