What is the most you have paid for a camera bag?

80 for my Lowepro fastpack 350, which I use as a travel bag mainly if I'm going away to keep everything together, then swop to a S&F belt and pouches. my dearest bag is a billingham 445 bought for me as a birthday present which cost about 150 20yrs ago, if I add all the other bags, pouches etc together I've probably spent about 1000 on bags etc over the years. a few I've still got but several have gone by the wayside

Just got the lens a few days ago, thought I'd put up a few pics from a trip to a nearby reservoir for comments, all were taken with the lens wide open as the light wasn't good

Same here, I'd go with the K50 f1.2, you can never have enough aperture speed when working indoors with available light

lens prices in the Caribbean.

I was on Aruba in 2007 and got a good price on a Tamron 18-200 but it was the only Pentax fit lens they had and was the display one so got some money off for that, but within 6 months it was the same price in UK, and on later visits to to the Caribbean I've not seen any Pentax DSLR or lens only compacts.

My camera history is roughly

pre 1984 - borrowing parents 126 camera on the odd day trip with school/holidays
1984-1989 halina telewide 110 camera - this went everywhere with me and took some good photos on it, by 89 it was worn out and getting sluggish on the autowind on
1989-2004 Pentax SFX my first proper camera, i mangaged to smash the lcd within 6 months of getting it and having at the time a hefty repair bill of 80, but it went onto serve well for a number of years, eventually suffering shutter/drive/flash failure
1990-1992 Olympus AF1 compact was sort of a go everywhere replacement for the 110 but ended up cushioning a fall and getting badly damaged
1992-1998 Pentax zoom90WR replacement for AF1 worn out from use, had a handy IR remote too, got dunked in a pint of beer at a party once and still worked fine after much to the disappointment to the person dunking it
1998-2003 Pentax Efina APS compact - big mistake getting this but soldiered on with it using occaisionally
2003-2004 Pentax optio 33L - my first digital camera was one of the first to have a flip out screen too
2004-2006 Sony f828 - was the replacement for the SFX as DSLR's were out of my price range at the time but was too limiting with 1 RAW shot every 7seconds!!
2005-2009 Pentax WPi, ahndy little waterproof compact till it had a drink of seawater
2006-2009 Samsung GX10- back to Pentax in a fashion, i hadn't realised till i'd got it that it was actually a rebadged Pentax :D
2009 to date fuji j15 with waterproof casing
2009- to date Pentax K7 - back to Pentax proper

Your method of carrying 2+ bodies, and straps

I use OP-TECH pro straps on both bodys and have had them slung off each shoulder to switch between them on a couple of occasions, but normally the secondary (usually the GX10) is lens down in a Lowepro Toploader pro though ready to grab as needed

Old metz 45 on a K7

I've got an old metz 45 CT1 with the high trigger voltage and knowing it can fry the shoe flash circuits on a camera ( i think it did this to my old SFX) I'm not keen on putting using it on my K7, but as the K7 has a pc socket on the side i was wondering if anyone knows if it is safe using the flash through the pc socket or will this fry the camera as well.

thanks for any advice

I'm doing a wedding in September (family ) and I've been thinking about the same thing with my kit and I was planning on using my K7 with the 17-50 f2.8 and the GX10 with the 70.200 f2.8 as I'll be able to get in close for most shots with the K7 at the venue

not sure about your combo of TC and lens but i use a Pentax 1.7 AF Adaptor with my Tamron 70-200 f2.8 without any problems so it's likely your combo will probably work OK too, but there is probably a member on here that uses your combo and will give you more accurate info

I've got a Samsung GX10 that was almost 100 cheaper than the K10 and with the cashback offer Samsung had when i bought it was nearer 200 cheaper so i went with the cheaper body and put the saved money towards a lens, got a K7 now as my main camera but still have the GX10 as back up

hiya

I've got the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 on a K7 and it is pretty nippy on focusing unless the light levels are really low. it's almost become my standard lens when i'm out shooting. i had the same should i go Tamron or Sigma when i got it last year, i read several reviews and comparisons online and in magazines and found a dealer with both lens in stock to try them out on my K7 before going with the Tamron,, most of my other lenses are Tamron but i wanted to make sure i got a good lens i was comfortable with for the money I was spending -800

i'd go for tammy 10-24 and 70-200 f2.8 with the lens you've got.. I've got them both plus the tammy 17-50 f2.8 and wouldn't be without them on my K7

of my current cameras it's the gripped K7 especially with the 50mm f1.7 on, great handling, but loved my old SFX too until it died

K7 Battery Life

I've got a grip on my K7 with genuine batteries in both body and grip, and they usually last between 2500 and 3000 photos for the pair of them. i rarely use the built in flash as i have a external flash . so that sounds like it may be a duff battery only lasting that short space of time if it was on the charger properly
