I just got a K5 second handed, im using manual mode but when I turn my camera on it allways go to some values like ISO 80 speed 1/15 and aperture 5. something. I would like to know how to set it so that when I turn my camera on remembers my last parameters that I used.

Is like starting from zero each time I turn it on. I would like to continue with my last parameter and do adjustments only.

Hope you could help me

k50 or ks1?

KS-1 is not WR only KS-2. KS family is for people who are more related with smartphones rather than photography,it has lots of fetures that makes more "comfortable" the sharing and set ups, but at the end sensor ISO, and speed are not the big thing for the price.

K-50 on the other hand is cheap and is WR so you can take pics under the rain, snow and not to worry on the beach. High ISO and good sensor for reasonable price.

KS are as good as K-50 but without weather seal and twice the price. KS is only fancy thats all is for people who are more related with smatphones technology rather than photography.
If money is not your issue as you said at the begining go for th best so far which is K3 II. But If at the end you dont want to spend lots of money go for K-50 nice camera better than K-x and KS Great price and weather sealed.
And if you don't want to spend lots but you dont want the cheapest either go for K-5 IIs.

Why to buy WR lenses if you wont have a WR camera?? you cant go out and take pics on the rain or snow, your lens will be ok but your camera will be damaged

Metz 52 PTTL & PTTL HSS

Thanks for answer enoeske, so about your coment, on resume PTTL only works on AV, SV, Tv and Auto (all presets)? what about P?

So never works with Manual, then the only way to use HSS is Tv mode (with >180 shutter speed) or any preset that might use a higher speed depending of the situation like outdor photos.?

Metz 52 PTTL & PTTL HSS

I have a Metz 52 and I allways use it on Manual. I want to try "automatic" but I can't understand how this works.

If i set my camera on manual and i set whatever ISO, speed, and f, and lets say is one step under, If I shoot on PTTL the falsh will shoot a couple of mini flashes then will evaluate the amount and then magic! a nice exposure. Is it like this?
Or do i need to set the camera on auto also and then my flash wil sync with my camera with PTTL and i will have a nice exposed photo?

What are the settings and circumstances when you have to use PTTL? Also if I tilt the flash gun or if I use any difuser or the white card, does PTTL recognized it?

PTTL HSS, what is the maximum speed that HSS can work, I know that my model (kr) Sync speed is 180, my manual says:
"High-speed flash sync is available only when the shutter speed is grater than 1/180 sec" So, what's the max value?
Metz manual says "Various cameras support automatic highspeed synchronisation (see the camera’s operating instructions)" So, is an info loop

If I bounce the flash lets say shooting to the ceiling does PTTL recognize it?

I think PTTL is harder than manual, please some one illuminate me a little bit.

Hi everyone I have a Metz 52 and im trying to do portraits at night or low light, I don't know how to set flash - camera combination to make it work (2nd curtain flash). I use the camera on manual mode, I use a low speed like 1/30 or more, I put camera flash (as if i were use the built in flash) on 2nd curtain. Then I set the metz flash also with 2nd C and manual mode, but is not happening. Any advice please. What is the lowest speed that Metz can do or there is no restrictions even bulb should work?

My settings:

Camera: Manual, flash 2nd C
Flash: Manual and 2nd C

Another pro is that you can use it for macro (it hangs upside-down) and also for table top pics

I think the color version is better, i like BW mostly but in this case i think the skin tones worth to be shown, bedsides on BW version there is some kind of white halo around the helmet, (more noticeable at the rear part) and is a little bit distractive. On color version this is lost with the blue sky so looks more natural.

I like the sharpness on the subject face, her profile is very well defined. Très bien por la equestrienne!

Puerto Vallarta holiday - which lenses would you take?

Well most of pics will be landscapes and portraits, since you are traveling with people, so if I were you i would pick the 77 which is a master piece and your widest lens. And that would be all. Your main lens would be the wide since you will be at restaurants and crowded places so some times there is not lots of space to be between your subject and the camera, besides will be lots of people passing on the streets and things like that.

A fish eye would be grate to have, a fish eye and the 77 would do the work easily and with quality, specially the pentax fish, you can zoom it to 17mm and you get a rectilinear picture and as long as you zoom out you get that spherical effect which on the sea looks great.
