Why is f1.4 so important?

as a matter of fact, I have... but as I said, nothing comes for free.
regarding the validity of my original point, I merely said it's one more thing that enters the equation. The fact that it doesn't affect all the lenses in existence does't render my point less valid.

What is "it" about a DSLR?

A DSLR was my way to get control of the process. Without a darkroom, film annoyed me (still does). The DSLR removed that roadblock for me, so I could get better at the roots of photography: see, capture, present.

But still the right way to make embedded mouse.

Most menu and select here stuff should be accessible with truly 8-way switch. I find pushing two switches in 4-way switch between uncertain and laggy.

I use my GR for landscapes and street photography. My customizations emphasize street photography.

Fn1: AF/Snap. Snap mode is invaluable for street photography because it eliminates AF lag. Note that when you are in snap mode you can hold up on the 4-way controller (the macro button) and turn the front dial to adjust the snap distance. The display shows a graph with the snap distance and estimated depth of field.

Fn2: Keep Fn2 dedicated to the default self timer. If you don't assign the timer to a button there's no alternate way to activate it from the menu.

My1: Daytime street photography. TAv, shutter 1/400 (to freeze moving subjects), f6.3 (for reasonable depth of field). Snap focus at 1.5m so everything between 1-4 meters is in focus.

My1: Low light. Av, f2.8, autofocus, B&W effect.

I use the side filter button for it's default function. I use one function button to quickly switch between snap focus and auto focus, and depending on the situation, I'll change it to switch between AF and MF. I use the other function button to engage focus select mode with focus assist (focus peaking). I've never gotten into user modes on my GR nor my Pentax cameras.

It's a great little camera with a lot of settings. It's taken me longer to learn and tweak the interface than on any camera I've ever owned.

My 2 cents, it's a great place to visit.

If you enjoy hiking and biking, there are many wonderful trails to explore.

Check out the following biking site;

One of my favourites for swimming is Providence Bay.

Enjoy your vacation!

When the K3 Safox XI was tested in the forum it had a keeper rate of 67% coupled with the Da* 60-250 as compared to the 96% on the Nikon D610 which used the 70-200mm f2.8. The D610 AF is said to be comparable to the D710 (not the best in the Nikon lineup) Adam should reexamine the AF performance of the K3 once he gets his hands on the new D-Fa* 70-200mm f2.8. I expect the Safox XI + 70-200mm f2.8 keeper rate to plateau at 80-85%. If this was the case, this still puts Pentax behind the competition by a considerable margin. Upgrading the image sensor over the K3 (and puting NFC, Wifi) should be reason enough for the upgrade. I hope that Ricoh/Pentax start investing more in R&D and shorten the cycles of their AF module updates in the future.
