Welcome from another non-Scot (but I did live in Fife for 10 years). This is a great place to get information, help and encouragement.

I have no idea, to be honest. It isn't totally clear if the mouse set builder is doing it or the BBC shot the mouse video being used.

He uses a Pentax K-50 and that is visible in the video at the bottom of the text. If you don't see the video, you don't see what he is using.

My apologies if this is old news (and if it's in the wrong spot) but it was really cute:

I shoot because I like to. Absolutely there are better photographers out there, some, ok a lot of them, have better gear and deeper pockets than I do, but I don't care. I still do it because I enjoy it. I like to see how I have grown as a photographer and the better I get the more I want to get even better. Most importantly I don't need to justify why I do it beyond I do it because I enjoy it. We spend so much of our time pleasing others, why not do something that pleases ourselves?

Sorry but I am really behind with commenting I will work hard on catching up.

This afternoon I spent a little while getting an education on the Brenizer method. I know nothing in my current software catalogue can stitch anything together so I am wondering if any other Mac users can offer inexpensive options for giving it a try. I really can't afford to plonk down any money to try it when I suspect it won't see a lot of use. I know I can skip the theme - but in the spirit of the challenge, I at least wanted to give it a try.

So last night I was tired and bound and determined to post before bed and I goofed and put my shot for May 2nd in the thread for May 3rd. So do I leave it there and add another for today or confuse everyone even more and move it to yesterday and edit the initial post?

The themes are good except can we move plants to later in the month? The only plant I have to photograph at the moment are the brown stands of thatch masquerading as glass on my lawn. Nothing green has even poked their way out of the soil yet. Our conservatory closed earlier this month so I can't even go there to get a few plant shots. If not no worries, I'll have to try something else.

So I am willing to try again. I've acquired some new bits and pieces and I need to get practising with them. I bought a 1.4 rear converter to go with my DA*300mm and then this week a odd branded but fully functional manual 2X converter came my way for the princely some of $20. It was too good to pass up. Anyway I need to work on being able to use both.

So sorry to hear about your stepdad I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

As for me I have been horribly sick and it completely killed off my April. It started with a chest cold followed by the most severe depression I have ever had to deal with. Depression isn't new to me but usually when it flares up I can cope with it and life soon goes back to normal.. This time it wasn't so easy to shake and I really had to fight to stop it from drawing me under. I am doing better now and by next week I should be ready to try again with May. I am so sorry for dropping off the face of the earth. Depression makes me withdraw and longer I stay away the harder it is to come back.

Now I'm a permanent patient and benefit immensely from the drugs I get from the likes of Sandy Hancock! When I was working my favourite job was being an over educated antiques dealer and personal property appraiser. This is did for a number of years but eventually I needed a real job with a regular wage packet. When I have worked as a wage slave I've been a free lance writer, banker, tech support person, pharmacy technician, cashier and website builder. Now I build and maintain websites as a volunteer for my church and once a week I spend an afternoon in one of our least desirable neighbourhoods as a support worker for disadvantaged adults. I dispense advice on on all kinds of subjects such as finding a job, getting an education, a place to live, food to eat, how to get benefits etc and at the same time providing a never ending supply of hot coffee and family friendly conversation.

I worried that when my poor health forced me out of the workforce that I would be lost without a regular job and I was so wrong. I have found plenty to do with my time. In fact I find I have less spare time than I did when I was working.

It's a long shot, but the store I buy from records the serial numbers of the kit you purchase so they would be able to look them up for me if heaven forbid I need them in the future. What they also provide is a copy of the receipt that can offer proof of purchase.

I've hit a rough spot and I'm not feeling to well. Spring has only sprung on the calendar and it is freezing here and we have no hope of seeing temps above freezing until next Monday, if we are lucky. So not feeling great and lousy temperatures has laid me flat and it will take a few days before I jump in, but I will.

As I figured I am struggling too. I might have a better chance of getting a shot in today but I've been thinking that all week :D

When we had an antiques shop and sold on eBay our only negative came from a French buyer who was miffed it took so long for the mail to arrive from Canada to France. She wouldn't pay for a courier and we had sent it airmail directly on the day she paid us..
