Junior Midget Racers at the Petersen.

#1 - 1914 Baby Vanderbilt Cup Racer. Restored from rust bucket over 6 years.
#5 - 1939 Moto-Kar. This is the only 2-1/2 HP version surviving.
#6 - 1935 Buttress & McClellan had 1-cylinder Briggs and Stratton power.

Top Left - 1952 Pylant. Much of the body work was from various full-size cars. The exhausts are sink drain pipes.

Bottom Left - 1942 Plexi Flyer had an aluminum frame and fiberglass shell. Green plates are for amusement park employees to stand on while parking them.

#11 - 1959 Vanguard "Special Rocket". Came as a kit or built and was claimed to comfortably seat two.

#12 - Dubbed "The Dart", this was built from scratch ca. 1955 from plans in a 1939 Popular Mechanics. The unusually large Briggs & Stratton had an in-dash throttle.

#13 - 1955 Kurtis "500" Jr Quarter Midget.

#14 - 1952 "Jaguar XK120".

#15 - 1954 Viking-Craft Quarter Roadster. Built by travel-trailer manufacturer, Doug Caruthers, who formed the Quarter Roadster Association to standardize rules and regulations.

2005 Motivational Tubing manufactured this Top Fuel Pinnacle Junior Dragster.
