Glad you all enjoyed seeing a small piece of our life.

I'll post a photo here and there if the shots are worthy of someone else's appreciation. I'm not skilled at hiding my personality so it's best I don't get involved with forum life.

Best to you all.......

As I promised Bob Harris awhile back I'm posting some photos of our annual Spring round up. Took 124 photos but most are only interesting to us personally but here's some general shots. My K5 was off doing duty photographing birds so the Fuji X10 had to fill in.......

It's a fun study! "Whisky", without an (e) is a Scottish beverage, made solely in Scotland, from distilled barley. Actually just Beer, without hops, run through a still if you prefer. Stuff made from, wheat, corn, oats or rye, distilled in other countries, is usually referred to as "whiskey", with an (e). It's usually a sign of enlightenment and respect to refer to Scottish whisky without the (e).

Great capture! Very nice photo! Wonderful detail!

We have bird that's very similar wing coloring around here that we call a "Red Shafter Flicker"! Our's lacks the red head and loves nesting in our pump house!

I have a wee dram most evenings, along with my other vice - cigars! One stogy and a nip to end the day is it for me! I do enjoy the single malts and a vatted malts! In my old age I've stopped experimenting and pretty much stick to what pleases me! Looking at you wonderful collection there's only a few labels I haven't tried at one time! Did you ever try "Sheep Dip"? It's actually quite good for a vatted malt with a horrid name!

We lived in Edinburgh for a while and that was a grand experience! Still have life long friends there. We don't visit each other any more....we're all in the advancing stages of decay! Memories........

That's the one! They had a famous cat at the time we visited! Reportedly the cat held the Scottish record for mouse kills?

Wow! Your inventory puts me to shame! Afraid my liver couldn't stand a collection such as yours. Think there's one bottle of Talisker, and one of Famous Grouse in my cabinet! Over the years I've just about sampled most!

The Misses and me, in the last century (1995), at Glenturret! It was an easy drive from Edinburgh which made for a nice day outing! Food was passable, great whisky, very friendly and best of all - NO CROWDS!

Your photography is great! You've touched on a weakness of mine...single malt whisky. Visited this lowland distillery a million years ago, only have one Signature bottle left. Drank the original bottle years ago! The appreciation of single malts in akin to the appreciation of wines! Whisky is better, IMO!

Not many people know about this one!

I went along with the group deal.....just cuz! I'll just post here from now on! Stan, I wouldn't worry about capturing any wild life, big or small. I've got hundreds of raccoon's, squirrels, rabbit and birds! They're all fun to look at! Some people think it a competition to photograph the biggest buck or most wild cats.....wherever! I don't see it that way!

The cowboy is Wes. Wes is my right arm now that I'm barely mobile! Those dogs do most of the work! No ATV's or motor bikes around here. We're still traditional and it's actually more dependable and economical......plus, it doesn't stress the cattle. A rider can mingle among the cattle nice and easy!

Thanks teesfully and panteg! Chasing my tail lately!

I'm working on a flash setup for the K5 with extension tubes so I won't need to use the Fuji all the time for mushrooms!

Another view without the building in the back ground.

Fantastic! Great subject! Great photography! I sincerely appreciate your making the effort to share this photo commentary on a fantastic subject! Well done!

Interesting bow! Almost looks like a hull upside down! Image that's so the ship can get in close to the oil rigs?

Glad you like it! I've got quite a few but won't bore you whit them all......

The mushrooms are under the Live Oaks (green trees) in the distance. There are hundreds of mushrooms. In a few months a different variety will sprout. That particular spot grows the best and greatest varity of mushrooms on the whole place!

Thanks Stan! In a few months your fungi should be blooming! Probable have some already!

Thanks Rupert! I do enjoy this season only because of the mushrooms! I must admit getting up and down is becoming a challenge.

Thought this shot turned nice! X10 no PP! Next years calendar perhaps! Looks great in 8 x 10.

Thanks daacon, they are a bit XXL. Tis the season!

I'm not very creative sailor. My artistic side is pretty much non existent. Besides laying on the wet ground to photograph mushrooms wan't as challenging as trying to get up!

Thought this one was rather nice!

I don't believe they're poisonous, but they don't look too appetizing IMO, Personally, I've never tried them.
