because I did it.

If you're good in framing, you will notice immediatelly - how different your eyse are "seeking" for the frame.
--
If you have 4:3 in a front of eyes, it's natural to do your framing in 4:3 - So, you will choose the frame from the scene in that way.

---------------------------
In another scenario when you shoot with 3:2 - and later want to crop it to the 4:3 - this would not be the scene you framed, and you may miss some space in vertical area.

---------------------------
Solution
---
Well, you can always crop - so your scene must be larger - or should I say - a little "zoomed out" - so you can later positively frame 4:3 without losing your idea for that frame ratio.
---
It's a little tricky at first.

and
it has not solved one more existing problem.

---
That 's your position when you're taking that shoot.

If you shoot with 3:2 - you will stand at the position which naturally feels and bread with that ratio. You may stay little more right, left, or so.

If you shoot with 4:3 - same thing. But here's the important part - positions wher you standing may differ - and you will notice this.

Afterwards croping - cannot solve it.

because it may be actually - a very different fame.

--
Which you cannot get by croping the first pic from 3:2

------------------------------------------

If you want to try - just bring your Q, and DSLR with only 3:2 - and try to shoot same scene - with both of them. 4:3 on Q,, and 3:2 on another camera

--
Soon,

yoo will may conclude same things as I do.

Yongnuo mastering P-TTL and HSS: new YN585EX model

I can agree on that one too,

but.... YN - have too much complicated triggers for different things also.

I read a fantastic article about that. Godox succeded where YN failed, and each system have same market, and same goals - at very much same price.

--
As far as I can read - Godox is more reliable, more sturdy, with simplier radio triggers solutions, with full HSS support, and their products can easily be paired with each other to make them work together,

while in YN that's not the case.

--
I have a three Godox Flash Lamps,

and I can use the triggers from them,

to

triggers the Godox flashes. I simply can put trigger from lamp, to the flash directly.

--
With YN,

I can't even pair some of YN flashes to work with unsuported YN radio trigger, because they mixed up system.

---

So, Godox is by far - much better choice, and YN would lose battle. The situation is rapidly changed for them, and I think the Godox would just eat them,

because for overall better compatibility,

better flash builds,

and even cheaper prices.

---
Let the game begins

q 7 is mirrorless camera,

and my Ricoh GX 200 - can do that also.

I really don't care abaout your or others techique to get in the different ratio field. Is it PostProcess, or is it something else.

Here we don't disquas about - HOW we can manage things - which are not in Pentax,

but rather - What pentax is lagging behind the others.

--

I can also manage 4:3 , 1:1 , or similar in PP,

but that's really not the same.

Trully framed 4:3 from the scene, is very different from the 4:3 created afterwards.

About Pentax Updating and adding new stuffs I cannot agree more on the first topic.

--

Pentax is very sadly - manufacturer

which does not do any kind of later incorporation of the new things.- with firmware updates - in their cameras

For me,

I found few things which actually can be add - very simply - without to much effort - like different active scrren propotions for shooting in different ratios - in LV only.

--

Realy don't understand

why that option is still missing one in LV - and I really have not symphathy for such lack of will in Pentax department to do such a simple task.

--
For the tracking :

--

I really don't care about sport - and particuraly TRACKING . If I would be such kind of photographer - I think the Pentax system would not be my first choice,

but if I would must take such pics
for, let's say , one part time job for a client - I think - my KP and K3 - with my prefocus technique could be enough.
--

In most scenarios I found the tracking is unreliable - and maybe complicated as well, and if I want a good clean shoot, I would not relly on such AF technique, but rather on the faster recomposition, and faster single AF, or even prefocusing the area.
So If I would have to do some unpredictable action, with fast moving subject flying or moving all around,

things - like tracking eye, or tracking subjects
would be

avoid by me anyway.

------------------------------

I tried Pentax tracking, and yes it can be good, but your subject must be always in the middle of your frame, and you have to practice this - to get the best results.

___________________

for the updating thing - I simply realise two years ago, or even more - that Pentax don't do such stuffs - and I've completely ended my hopes in that area - and take my Pentax camera - as it is. :)

on board is what ? Flash mounted on the camera ?

--
So, how zhat works then ?
--
I'm glad you pointed it out . I'm investigate Godox right now. 600TT - and how I can use one.

It says it's multibrand on many places. On some says Canon, Nikon or etc.

I think the flash is the same,

but the radio trigger is - Nikon, or canon, or some other brand.
--
They're gaving the first letters of the brand, in the name of the godox radio triggers.

-
S is for Sony, N, for Nikon, and P for Pentax..

---
I don't know which of these is suitable for Pentax.

I'm currently looking for your suggestions - and I also now realised ,

that I'm not familiar with HSS settings into the camera.

--
I have KP which maybe doesn't support HSS at all ,

and
K3 - which does have dedicated wheel position "X" - for flash sync speed, but I don't know how to use it either

Hi volks

Does anyone tried to use HSS on Pentax,

specifically one of the YONGNUO HSS flashes?

I'm a little bit confused about Canon, and Nikon versions - because there is nowhere nothing about Pentax - at least for HSS - or maybe I was blind in the Google :D

--
I almost ordered 585 EX - but from what I've read here, it doesn't have HSS ?? -

Which Yongnuo should I order to have HSS anf TTL on my Pentax ?

--
And what about the remote trigger for it ?

Is it does HSS work attached on the camera , or it must be triggered by remote attached in the hot shou ?

Or is it irrelevant - and can be do both way ?

--
What triiger remote from Yongnuo is suitable for this, because I have see several of them. ?

--

Thanks everybody ! ;)

Does anyone try the video mode on KP?

I tried to find KP's video testing reviews - but the internet is poorly covered with such video-recording reviews with KP.

-
I'm not video guy in any aspect, but I noticed high compression in Video from KP, giving to the recording lack of true colors, shorter Dynamic Range, and ruininig fine details - and that's also have been noticed in some others KPs reviews.

--
Matias Burling ( I think you all know who the guy is ) in his KPs - very decent review, was mentioned -the KP video is "actually really good" ( exact words ).

FP rates really doesnt meen so much to me,. because I think 30 fp is like an old film camera standard - and if it was good than for filming in Hollywood, than why suddenly must be 120 fps . I know the slow motion filming must have such speeds, but for every day use,
30 fps - is good choice.

- maybe even smarter then using 60 fps.

--
I also tried to find - what is the best movie settings for this camera or similar Pentax Cameras, like K1, or K3 - and I found very little or nothing infos on that -
which clearly tells us
how many videographic users - actually do their videos with Pentax.

-
Yes, around zero would be wild guess on that qustion :D

--
However - Sometimes I do want shoot some videos - and I would love to hear from the others experiance - which movie recording settings they're prefering

Today, I have excesive photo shooting in tae-kwon-doe - kids competion, and I took with me KP, and 70-300 mm old Zoom with AF.

--
With display off - all the time -

and
without checking the pics in play mode, almost nothing - just here and there - to be sure what I'm doing -

-
CAMERA WAS IN HIGH BURST MODE ALL THE TIME, - and it was turning off - every time I wasn't shooting. *Picture recording only L file size
--
/ *TECHNIQUE WAS TO SHOOT - SHORT BURSTS - WHEN KICKS WERE FLYIN IN THE AIR. /

---------

--

I hit the new record here. I don't know exact number of shoots, because on the begining I have another but almost dead empty battery, which was gone - after maybe 50 clicks.
--
RESULT

1750- OR APROXIMATELY ~1700 shoots from one battery !!!

I like to have the control of the

*innocent situations -. where photographer cannot be visible
*far away street situation, where I want - to close up, and don't run like an idiot across the road - and missed situation which I want to photograph - at all
*want to zoom close objects, like flowers, or something else - for macro

--

I can see many insulting post over my opinions - I can show you my works from GX 200 - and you show me yours from whatever camera you like.

Results are better with better tools - that's obvious .

hmmmm ... every bad opinion - would do that.

I'm sorry - but I'm in the same boat as many... I like street photography.

If companies like Ricoh claim they're doing it for some style - obvious street style is here most mentionting -

THEN I HAVE TO SAY - WHY IT IS NOT such a wonderfull, and maybe not even street style ( as it could be with zoom ) camera - which in this last generation - would lack - one more feature - which maybe don't necceary fit into the street - and that's the flash.

I shot a LOT of street style photos, and flash is mostly don't needed - but sometimes I must use it, or want to use it.

Just my opinion.

If someone plans to buy that, why not. ;)

I think when you compare sizes ,

you're forgeting ( or don't know yet ) that GR III is SMALLER - not the same sized as GR II.

Because I own GX 200 whicvh shares this design of GR - I know HOW SMALL is already.

GR III is SMALLER than that, so the speculations - that they have to cut something because of built in SR, could be untrue, and wrong.

Also I want to inform others - less experianced photographers - that lack of the flash can be essential, if they're planning to leave the house , just with ONE camera, fitted in the pocket.

I was a long waited CAPLIO GX 200 succesor - which never came out.

They just ended it, iand it was such a wonderfull camera, so please to play, and use. ONE IN THE THOUSENDS - I choosed , and believe me - I'm not chooing anything over night, and before I red every review ojn the internet.

--
They made a mistake - I moved to Olympus PEN E-P5 ( another IT HAVE IT ALL camera ) .

So, essentially - I'm here just to inform them - if they'e reading. ;)

I think companies - fails to recognise - why people LOVE smaller cameras, and some of them - ( Olympus Pen - remove the flash from PEN F also ) - just choose to cut down features.

If something is "I TOOK IT EVERYWHERE" camera - I think it's a BIG fail to cut - the flash unit off.

For me - That makes no sense - and I'm saying that from a COMPANY perspective.

--
They cutting one really essential - usefull feature - just why exactly ? - TO HAVE LESS CUSTOMERS WHO WILL PURCHASE THE PRODUCT ? :D

--

I remember various companies who try to cut down - their - very good received products - and that was never ever good move to do. People always feel like the're be fooled, and they rather wait - or purchase something else.

I would never buy GR - just because I already have street camera(s) - and If today I'll be leaved without any - GR III would not be my choice.

( also I disliked fixed lens- I loved ZOOM GX 200, and only wide view is not a thing for me .
Street photography,

with only wide lens - push you into the situation you want to photograph - and then people see you, and you ruined everything )

Best of all volks , don't bother what panosnki is saying ;)

you must be right :P

Flash is stupid - why it have to be on the camera :D

It's a TOOL . If someone selling a tool to a thousends - then it's obvious fail for some.

So - its LESS usefull.

Or you want to say, that "more is less" :D

--

Why new feauters, why ISo, why Touch, Why all of that - when Less is more. Why :D

--

ABOUT THE STYLE

--

I don't have a style. I shoot in ALL ocassions.

all occasions means - FLASH is gone be needed - somewhere, for something, and your TOOL would be NOT quite good at that moment.
