Well, some people have a wonderful "eye". They just see things differently. I could work as much as I want, but their "eye" ... One could also call it "creativity" or "talent" or "whatever" ... But without hard work, talent just means nothing.

Nice Pictures.

There are funny discussion on the forums about this lens.

It is a great lens, simply great, in all fotographic aspects. I know what I have, and I know now what I would miss, if I would not have that option.

Leica R Elmarit 60mm 2.8 Macro
Nikon Micro IF AI 200mm F4
Nikon Micro 85mm 2.8D PC

No issue. Be careful with the screw removal. If they break, it is difficult to drill them out. The last one is/was special (needed a new mount) and has been done by David.

Know who you are. And build on that. This is what Ricoh is doing. The beauty of being small is, that you don't need to run after trends. Once in a while the trend is with you, once in a while it is against you. This is quite different to larger companies, who have to be where the trend is, at least to some major portion of R&D spending. The downside of small companies is, that they are always on the edge.

R&D spending, product innovation will slow down to the pre-2000 times. And Ricoh won't need to adapt. While the big onces have to adapt. And the tears will fill rivers. And may kill one or the other big one.

There was a discussion in another thread about sensors. What is involved in sensors design can be guessed from the article below. Maybe known to most, but nevertheless interesting to read. Differences in sensor design between a MILC and a DSLR (phase detection pixels, microlens design at shorter flange distances etc.) are not discussed here.

Pentax was once known for the fast long tele primes. Are there any plans for the roadmap (e.g. 200 f4 macro, 300 2.8, ...)?

Are there any additional accessories planned? A radio flash on the roadmap would also be great.

The bayonett mounts for the MILCs have lately seen a significant redesign. What is Pentax' position to it with respect to image quality and lens costs.

Pentax flashes versus 3rd party

The flash needs to have pptl function. If you intend to use it, get a HSS version. When I grap the flash, I don't want to think if I can use the lenses wide open or not. Same for the Power. We live in the 21st century. Also great on the Metz 64 is the touch menue. A flash has a large number of useful options. The touch function makes it easy to access. Again, 21st century! I also hope that radio trigger will become standard in cameras and flashes. Your Pentax flashes are not so different in prize.

Will the mirroless market implode in a price-war?

For the amateur photographer there is little to no benefit DSLR versus MILC or vice versa. Regardless of the format. This is all a matter of individual perception. Every camera is fine. Emotionally this may be a different story.

For camera makers there is a big difference. Make costs for MILC bodies are much lower for the same format size. In addition, the average photographer appears to be willing to pay a higher prize for a MILC compared to a DSLR. I would assume the latter one is a lifestyle factor, disappearing or even inverting over time. More interestingly is the lens question - and little discussed. I would assume that for the high quality lenses, make costs for MILC lenses are higher compared to the DSLR lenses. This is just my guess. (Take a look of the Canon R 50mm 1.2 versus the Pentax DFA* 50mm 1.4).

Due to the shrinking market and high margins, I assume that there will a price race appearing, When this will appear is difficult to guess to me since the decline of the lifestyle factor is rather difficult to predict. I would assume this will push one or the other camera maker out of the market.

For DSLRs, it can well be that the system with the combination of bodies and lenses will remain competitive also in the long run.

To answer the question "Will the mirroless market implode in a price-war?" I would assume so since the market shrinks and the margins on MILC are high. By when? I don't know.

Tamron 70-200 f2.8 or the Pentax 70-200 f2.8

Focus speed you need to define. Is it AF.S or are you using AF.C. If you plan to use AF.C it is a huge difference if you use a latest camera like the KP or K-1 & DFA* 70-200 relative to older variants. Also the focusing accuracy is much improved.
