You have done well with all that backlight.Dont worry too much about the images only beeing birds because it's one of the main reasons I log on,I also hope to see them fly in your images, keep it up.

Gday
Thanks ,the image is a good old Aussie platypus. Generally hard to photograph but luckily I have a river quite close and there is a few in residence. I was just in the right place at the right time. The platypus is a real gem of a animal, with a duck like bill and the ability to lay a egg and suckle its young . Only two animals can do that the other being an echidna which is also a Aussie. Both good animals to Google.cheers Jaab

G'Day everyone
Could I please have a bit of critique on this image. It looked a bit flat in b/w so I put in some blue which seems to have lifted it a bit. Also added some contrast. Any comments would be appreciated.

GDay
Well there is nothing like a bit of negativity to attract some positivity on this site thanks .Vanchaz thanks the key was in the filter,I took the filter off each lens that I have used and put it on the lens I was using. Macro shots seem pretty good now with this old 28 to 80 sigma, also took 3 photos at different exposure.Thank again I now have renewed vigour towards my camera.

The lenses work fine on my k1000 film camera, but not on the digital k10d.I have tried all I can think of but with no success, almost seems like the old lenses and the new digital really dont go together at all.The lenses are in almost new condition and have been well looked after. Thanks again

GDay
Thanks for the comments. The photo was taken in middle of the day with high sun just as the Heron stepped into the shadows for a second. The food of the day was a yabbie which is a small crustacean not unlike a shrimp, but they are up for anything eatable.I took a few images this one has catch lights but doesn't appeal to me as much.I haven't tryied pp as I'm trying to get the best image without doctoring the image as yet.Cheers and thanks jaab
