Item for Sale
Pentax K-3

Asking Price
285.00 USD

Item Location
Trumbull (United States)

Item Description
Pentax K-3 - Shutter Count: 38, XXX (currently 37,548 and it is my primary camera)

I purchased this during the "fire sale" of K-3s after the K3II came out. I've owned it since it was new and purchased it with the 18-135 (not included). This camera has been spectacular. The K3 really is a legend, much like the K5 it replaced.

Condition: Mechanically it is nearly perfect. I have never had any issues with it. No shutter slap, no blank screen, no battery issues. It has been a solid workhorse that has done everything I have asked it to do. And it has taken some real gems.
Exterior it has some nics in the paint in multiple spots and has a few tiny scratches on the screen (not visible with screen on). The focusing has been awesome, and I've never had a lens that wouldn't focus right. I think the most I required was my DA*55 required a +3 adjustment. Other than that, I didn't have to focus adjust anything on this camera.

Sensor is clean and rest of interior is clean.

The one issue is that the on/off switch can be a tiny bit stiff. Never been an issue at all, but just letting you know. It started from when I went out on a boat in an ocean bay and got a little bit of salt water on it (with a DA* lens on). It has gotten better since then, but since I've owned it since new I wanted you all to know.

Comes with 2 batteries (1 original, 1 wasabi), the original charger, original strap, and the original K3 box

I'm selling because I'm moving to full frame.

$285 shipped in the US. That is a great price for the capability and reliability of this camera.

For Sale is my Sigma 30mm EX 30 1.4. This is not the Art with HSM. It is the EX smooth black finish with screw drive. This lens is really its own, as it creates dreamy centers of pictures. Now this is a lens that has a reputation, either you love it or hate it. And there is good reason for both sides. Typically the hate comes from not having sharp corners (no copy of this does, it was made to create a sharp center with soft corners on APS-C) or from autofocus accuracy.

The interior glass is clean apart from a few dust specs. The exterior glass is clean. The body is clean also, the pictures just show small dust. This is the smooth paint copy not the crinkle finish that Sigma used earlier on this lens and other lenses. It is an accurate focusing, sharp in the middle and creates those wonderful pictures that people speak of. It comes with it's original front cap, it's original hood, and a pentax rear cap. This is a really great copy of this lens. I am selling because I am moving to full frame and I have the legendary SMC 30 2.8.

$210 shipped in the US. $220 in Canada. . Now $160 in US and $170 for Canada.

Tokina 400 AF 5.6 Close focus

I bought this lens for "birding" this year. I live in Nebraska and the cranes are a treat here in the Spring. Fortunately, I was able to get a picture of one of the few CONFIRMED whooping cranes with this lens after a morning of taking my girls out to see the cranes. It's pretty uncommon and there isn't a ton of information out there for it.

The condition of the lens is great. The glass has some internal dust, nothing abnormal for a lens this age, or this large. The glass exterior is clean. The body is overall in really high condition considering the age of the lens. It has its tripod mount and built in hood.
Performance: it produced solid pictures. It isn't the sharpest lens you will ever own, but for a close focus 400mm 5.6 it will be the smallest and most portable. I think overall it looks like a classic AT-X in its rendering and colors. It produces solid pictures and for its price point and size it is surely a winner. I am selling due to only using it once in a year and trying to fund my full frame upgrade. Comes with original front cap, pentax rear cap, and tripod mount. This is an excellent price for an extremely light and capable lens.

$250 shipped in the US. $260 in Canada

I accept Paypal and prices are in USD.

Item for Sale
Pentax FA 77 1.8 Limited with Green Pouch!

Asking Price
440.00 USD

Item Location
Nebraska (United States)

Item Description
Pentax FA 77 1.8 Limited

You all know what it is. It is a marvel of a lens, small, compact, light, and incredibly elegant. A portrait machine!

The external is excellent, it is beautiful and pristine. The surfaces of the glass are clean also.

As you can see in the first picture there are some dots inside the lens (probably the second lens). This is not mold, fungus, or dust! What it looks like is that it is cleaning residue when the lens was cleaned. It doesn't impact the functionality of the lens (and the picture makes it look as bad as it can). You can't see it when looking through the lens into the light, so I needed a shadow to get it captured. You get the point - it is there, incredibly hard to see, but I want you to know.

This is an incredible lens, and it excels with portraits. I'm selling it because I have a new love in the Pentax F 135 2.8 and I am not using my lens collection near as often (hence the sale of the Sigma 120-400 on another page). This lens is still the legend.

It is an early serial number right over 3,000, so it comes with the green pouch and the mythical status of the first 10,000. It comes with the lens, the limited cap, the GREEN POUCH, and the box.

I'm asking an extremely low price of $440 USD shipped in the US.

International with good feedback PM me for shipping.

Get it while it is available.

Item for Sale
Sigma DG 120-400 4.5-5.6 APO HSM for Pentax K

Asking Price
410.00 USD - $380

Item Location
Nebraska (United States)

Item Description
Sigma DG 120-400 4.5-5.6 HSM for Pentax K -

Solid long range zoom lens. I bought for crane season in Nebraska, and I haven't used it since. It is in great condition inside and out. It is an excellent performer up to about 320mm. The HSM functions really smooth and was very accurate on my K-3. I captured some excellent pictures from a significant distance.

It is the old crinkle finish, so the last lens picture looks like it has dust, but that is the shiny sparkly part of the finish that is still there. The body is in good/excellent condition. The glass is excellent with a few specs of dust inside. The zoom lock works great (as you will need it if you tilt the lens due to the weight). Weight wise it is probably as light as 400m zoom lenses go, but it isn't a DA 15 either :)

Performance - it is a strong performer and produces excellent sharp pictures, up to 320mm. After that, it is hard to get sharp pictures unless the subject is not moving and you are on a tripod. The last picture of the lilac flowers shows that it can be at 6.3 at 400mm on a still shot. It does not have the OS like some of them did. But it is a DG so it is a full frame lens so it will do well for the K1 also.

I bought it from KEH and it didn't come with a hood, but you can buy from BH for $21. I used my Tamron 70-200 hood on it (it worked, but I had to be intentional about keeping it on). So it comes with generic front and back caps, and no hood.

Reason for selling - I'm in a profession change in life, and the extra time requires me to not shoot near as much, and my Tamron 70-200 is what I will use the majority of the time.

Price is $380USD shipped within the US.

International buyers with good feedback PM me for additional shipping charges.

Bruce - I've not used it, but people swear by its portrait abilities - the Pentax FA 135 2.8. They aren't common, that gives you the longer part of the group you are looking for, it is said to have good close focusing, and rendering is in the ball park of the limiteds. Ebay $300-350. That or the SMC K135 2.5 are on my short list. 135 is a hint long on APS-C, but it would probably be a gem on your K-1. Just food for thought. Otherwise, it is short for portrait work, but I'm very impressed with the image quality of the DA 50 1.8. I have the DA 55 1.4, but I think the DA 50 1.8 is really terrific. But you say you want something special - go with the Rok 85 or the FA 135 2.8. The Rok does portraits as well as nearly anything you can buy. The FA 135 gives you AF, a Pentax prime, and they are said to be terrific at portraits.

I've used the Auto Tak 85 1.8, the SMC Tak 85 1.9, SMC Tak 85 1.8, SMC K85 1.8, SMC M85 2 - And all of them have terrific focus smoothness. However, the Rok 85 held its own to all of them in portrait quality. Pick one up used for like $180 and if you don't like it, turn and sell it like you just rented it. I feel like image quality is at least as good as all of these. (they all have their strengths though).

I loved the Rokinon 85 1.4. I accept what it was for and what it was good at. My copy was accurate focus, and produced very stunning portraits. The reality of that lens: it is an extremely good optic without great coatings and isn't really smooth manual focus. Overall, it is a terrific product for portraits. The Pentax one has the A so it has auto aperture, which is good for manual lenses. Compared to the FA 77 (I've not used the FA 85), the FA 77 does everything better, weight, quality of lens, AF, looks, flare resistance, but I believe the Rok 85 holds it own for portrait quality. If all you care about is quality of optics, and you don't care about weight, size, looks, or smoothness of focus (it wasn't bad, just not great) then the Rok 85 is a thumbs up all the way.

Item Description
Pentax Auto-Takumar 85 1.8 -

In absolutely in beautiful condition. This semi-rare gem has been well kept and takes great portraits.
Condition: I rated it as excellent and I would say the body is in 97% condition. There are a few very small hard to see marks in the finish. The threads have a few spots from hoods or filters coming on and off. The glass is clean except it has a little bit of dust. A few dust spots are big enough to see (as I showed in pictures). They do not impact the image quality.

Performance: I had DC Shooter clean and lube the lens a little over year ago. It is sweet, and is a smooth operator. The lens does portraits well, has a smooth rendering and has an old school look to it. The focus is smooth, the aperture clicks nicely, no issues here at all.

The Package: It comes with what I suspect original Takumar cap and rear screw on cap. They are pretty clean especially for their age. It comes with the original case which is in terrific condition considering the age. It also comes with a 55mm hood and a 55mm Hoya UV(O) filter. The hood is perfect for APS-C shooting. I would have loved to find an original hood, but they aren't marked like the newer takumar hoods. So it comes with the lens, caps, 55mm metal hood, Hoya filter, and original case.

I am also including a genuine Pentax M42 to K Adapter if purchased this weekend!

Price: $350 shipped in the US. It is as good as it is going to get considering the age and rarity of the lens itself. Packaged with original case - pretty swell here. I'm selling because I am downsizing my lens collection and I can get by with my SMC Takumar 85 1.9.
