Just delivered yesterday was an early Christmas present from my wife, New Pentax K70 with 18-135 lens. Package deal from Cameta Camera. Amazing difference in clarity from my Kx. looking forward to having better resolution in my photos.

I agree there is much pp done on probably nearly every photo published in major publications and advertisements. Some photographs require it to provide the necessary "punch" to make the photo look good (or maybe better) than the SOOC result. Not every film or digital photograph is perfect with the camera settings. I recall someone somewhere mentioning that even film sent to processing labs were contrast and/or color corrected to look better whenever necessary/possible. Some were beyond salvation due to poor settings, but those that could be corrected were, or at least correction was attempted.

If Ansel Adams were alive today, I feel confident that he would use pp for any digital photos he made and he certinly would for film images, too. Ansel Adams' photos most likely are remarkable based on his location for them and for his discerning eye for composition along with his ability to produce the necessary, and proper, contrast to make the photos more appealing to the common person. Plus the every day person of his time did not get to see what he photographed except through his photos.

I know I need to pp most of my photos, except those which actually are not acceptable in any form. There is a significant number of those, too

I'm still learning some of these abbreviations so need a translation, what is YMMV?

I do wish to thank everyone for your comments, pro and con. It always helps to get the downside of a subject and not just the upside. Again, thank you one and all.

Anyone using a K70?

Currently I use two Pentax Kx cameras. Maybe it is a whim, but I have been thinking of going for a K70 with the 18 - 135 mm lens. I am thinking the 24 Mp sensor will give me more resolution in my landscapes and thus a better quality in my photos. I am retired and on a fixed income and would sell one of my Kx cameras with its kit lens and maybe my 35-80 lens. Just wondering if there are any here that will give me an honest and objective opinion about stepping up from the Kx to the K70. Thank you all, in advance.

PK Trigger Cord

My cables and connectors are all fine, stored and used very carefully. I am quite meticulous regarding my equipment. I have used PK_Tether fairly recently and it worked correctly using the same cords, computer and cameras so I would rule them out as a source of the problem.

Not a Number, and bwgv001, Thank you for your suggestions. I'm shooting with a K-x and transferring to my lap top using the cord that came with the camera, the same cord I used with P_K Tether and it worked fine, most of the time. I have tried different ports also. As for the USB connection it is set to MSC, recommended by the program. I did have a similar problem with P_K Tether, but re-starting the program usually resolved the issue. That isn't working for this one.

Anyone here tried or used the program PK Trigger Cord? I have used PK_Tether for a few years and looked for an update, found PK Trigger Cord. I could not find anything like an instruction manual or guide so have been playing around with it with little success. I get only one or two photos and it won't take any more or I get one that is good and then get a few with crazy colored portions of the photo placed haphazardly within the frame. (See attached photos) I would get similar problems with PK_Tether but it would clear up by re-starting the program, this one doesn't. I tried finding help via the website but it was not much help for this somewhat computer challenged individual. Any suggestions guidance or advice would be appreciated. I also would appreciate only serious responses. Thank you.

That card door doesnít look much wider than the card door on my Kx and it only hold one card, not enough room for two.

Recently my wife and I took a vacation, leaving Pennsylvania and traveling through parts of New York, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wyoming for a total of 19 days. During that time we saw very few DSLRs but numerous cell phones used for photographs. None of the DSLRs were Pentax. Most were Canon or Nikon and maybe a Fuji or a Sony. I proudly carried my two Pentax K-x.

Ricoh announces the relaunch of Pentax Photo Gallery

I may get myself in forum time-out for this but I just looked into joining the Pentax Photo Gallery and am in disagreement with the first sentence of the Terms and Conditions, "Ricoh Imaging has the option, at its sole discretion to decide whether to crop, edit or otherwise alter the images accepted into the Gallery as well as remove any images from its website." To me that takes away the artistic intent of the photographer? If an image can be altered or edited in any way it removes the individuality of that image and removes the original intent and vision of the photographer. Personally, I cannot agree to that type of "censorship" of my images. Therefore, I will not be a subscriber to or a participant with the Pentax Photo Gallery. Just my personal opinion and feeling. Others may agree to those conditions. That is an individual choice. I choose not to agree with the terms.

I was recently in Niagara Falls, Canada with my wife and grandsons and saw zero Pentax. Also, saw very few mirrorless or DSLRs, most were using cell phones.

I've not visited very regularly or really recently but from the comments I read here on this last page, we seem to have gotten off topic a bit. Therefore, I will comment to try bringing us back on track. A few months ago I joined a local (albeit small and in a rural area) camera and photograohy club and was pleasantly surprised that there are at least two or three other members who shoot with Pentax. Of course the majority are Canikon shooters, but it is nice to have a few new friends sith some common sense regarding camera brand.
