That is a great lesson... sometimes what we think is important, in the end is not.
Some of my best photos are slightly blurry, underexposed etc etc...
When I realized that, I began searching out the old MF lenses, each with their own 'look'. I ended up with some of my favorite photos coming from 5 dollar lenses.

I see why you like this one.

I had no idea Bramela had died. Thank you for bumping this back to the top.

When PF first started, Bruce was always the first with a kind word or good critique, and usually the calming voice when we got a little heated in the early days (and we often did)

Much love to Bruce, his family and friends.

Would be a good shot but there is a lot of noise. A quick question, why did you shoot this at iso6400? Also you may have some dust on your sensor.

And the F10 does not make sense to me there is so little DOF?

Great Dragonfly

I have seen you waste deep in the pacific ocean grabbing your new K-5 and tripod off the bottom of the sea... so I am not sure your "don't need no stinkin' covers" is applicable to most of us...

Beautiful Keitha...

the 43 and 77 are without a doubt my fave lenses for the head and shoulders... Both are awesome wide open and this shows exactly why.

I have the Pentax M200 F4 and I honestly don't think it is any better than my Da 55-300... I would not bother trying to stick a 2x converter on it... you loose too much light and add more glass in the chain of light...

Right now the WR version of the 55-300 is only like 280 bucks US... why chase a mf stick that is not any better to save a few dollars... you have a WR camera. Use it as such

Many of the dedicated macro lenses are also really nice portrait lenses also just allowing close focus... But your jupiter 9 also is a portrait machine...

I have used my raynox on every 49mm thread lens I have.. you simply squeeze the clip and screw/force it on...

agreed about the rubber hood for the glass shooting... but any raynox is not going to get close enough to focus if there is a glass case... therefore I still think a dedicated macro is the way to go....

I have used the jupiter 9 with the raynox 250 --- it gets really close. It would also do well with the Raynox 150 I bet.

But you have to get pretty close with these 'adaptor macros' and your DOF is really thin... here is an example of that.

I think the 150 would be better... But a dedicated 90/100mm macro would be the best option... you can get a used MF macro for reasonable prices and I have seen the Tamron 90 and the Pentax WR100 going for reasonable prices

thanks --- I too would love the perfect deal... It is a six year warranty in the states, so why can't you send it back till you get a good one?

---------- Post added 01-07-16 at 07:24 AM ----------

In the US it is about 770 to 880 USD
