Hi,

I hope that I have chosen the correct area for this. If not could it please be moved, thank you in advance.

I have just repaired a Manfrotto 058 tripod which is the same as a Bogen 3050 tripod. the 058 had two leg extensions while this 3050 that I am looking at the seller claims that it only has the one extension.

Has any one had any experience with this as the Manfrotto parts web site lists two extensions?

Regards.

Hi Ash,

I am quoting from a Sigma catalogue:- It is suitable for both full frame, film and APSC sensors. Weight is 3.150 kg! Minimum focusing distance of 4.00 metres.

AF is not supported on Pentax cameras if the body does not support Hyper - Sonic Motor (HSM)!

Hope this is of some assistance.

If you require further information that is in the catalogue let me know!

The catalogue is 03,2009.

Fungus Free Storage

Hi All,
Just thought I would let you know my solution for the storage of my collection in a fungus free dehumidified environment, here in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
I approached a local photographic accessories dealer, namely Kayell Qld., regarding buying just the unit that is used in the Wonderful Dehumidifiers. I told him that I wanted to dehumidify approximately a nine hundred (900) to one thousand liter (1000) cabinet. Andrew spoke to the importer who advised him that there was a pair of units that when used in parallel that they were rated for an eight hundred (800) liter cabinet. Because the cabinet which was an old two (2) door drinks fridge with all of the refridgerative components removed and would not be opened very often I decided to try it. I already had a Wonderful Dehumidifier for my digital equipment so was well aware of its function as a unit.

I cut holes in the back of the cabinet to fit the two components and turned them on. I placed a hygrometer on one of the shelves to monitor the relative humidity (RH). when this dropped to 50% RH I then turned the units off as they are fitted with an adjusting dial and an LED light when they are actually drying. I then obtained a second non functional refrigerator and did the same again thus giving me just over two thousand (2000) liters of dehumidified storage and piece of mind.
These units are a low power consumption unit unlike an air conditioner or such like.

I hope that this has been of some assistance to members contemplating a dehumidified storage solution in a high humidity environment

Pentax 645N Faulty

Hi All,

Today I went out on a photo shoot and went to take the 645N. I inserted the battery's in the case, turned the camera on, with no result, so I took the 67II instead. When I came home I checked the battery's and they all checked out satisfactorily. I then checked the terminals on the base of the case with the battery's loaded and result, 9 volts.

I placed some tiny pieces of screwed up alfoil on the contacts to make sure that I was getting contact with no result. I also checked continuity on the camera contacts and I had continuity with the camera switched on.

It worked perfectly last time that I used it!

Any ideas or is it off to the technicians tomorrow?

Regards.

Hi All,

I know how you must feel as I Have had quite a few dogs in my time, some working, and some pets. The last two that I remember most fondly were both Dobermans. A very miss understood dog in that they were both very friendly when introduced to them. I will never forget either of them lying across the 3/4 bench seat in my Nissan Patrol with their head on my lap as I drove, looking up every now and then for a pat or just a caress!

Regards.
