Aperture lever does not "spring."

Most aperture control ring springs are easy to rehook, as itís on the inside of the flange. Remove the flange screws, carefully tilting the flange so you donít tear the ribbon wire. Now it should be obvious. If everything is hooked up the control ring might be bent causing a bind.

This is easy for me, but Iíve repaired cameras and optics for years. Proper tools are a must.

Buy it , try it, youíll like it or wonít.
I personally always have my glass covered In sandy Florida, cannot say itís created any issues.

Pentax K1000 Wind Issue

Shoot a roll , process it OR grab an old roll, load it and remove the lens. Grab a pencil, set shutter to bulb , wind fully then open shutter and mark the film . If your sprocket is working your spacing will show that. The sprocket moves the film 9 perforations (if I remember ) One take up pawl lost its spring so the camera will work, as the spool has a clutch and doesnít pull the film.

Why remove ďTakumarĒ

Grey market. Honeywell blocked them from entry, removing the brand made it legal. This reminds me of the K1000.... under 100 on the grey market, wasnít worth repairing vs replacement. Then the yen /dollar changed and the grey market evaporated

The film will show and tell. Can you print a straight contact sheet, light leaks can only come from so many places.

I live in South West Florida... Primo tourist destination.... if I want to go feel a camera or any gear I literally need to drive to the other side of the state, a couple three hours round trip with $6.50 in tolls. All the locals here go to Best Buy.... I go to B&H

H1A Mirror

The mirror is a ďfront surface mirrorĒ meaning the reflective layer of silver is on the Front or Top of the mirror. (It has to be for accurate Prism focus.) Because of that silver will do all sorts of things as it oxidizes, discoloration and mottling are the norm . We used to ďattempt ďcleaning, under the hood with ether and alcohol mix, rarely a swab though. Trouble is that silver will scratch quite easily with any crud rubbed across the surface.

Do you recommend using a lens filter?.

Iím ancient school. Iíve always had a high end UV or polarizer on my lens.
I also always use a hood .UV on long glass/zooms, wide or normal have polarizers, thatís my needs
My reason is simple. I was a owner/tech of my photographic repair shop. My crew serviced Leica, hasselblad, linhoff, and all the regular household brands. My area was glass/ lenses. Most common repair was a bent filter, even one needing cutting to remove rarely damaged the lens barrel. Drop a zoom or IF Len, bend the barrel and you might have junk. The slight refractive loss of a optically flat filter is usually not noticeable. Note, Iím not a studio shooter, thatís a different thought..

Bottom line no need if it never drops!

Great car, no matter what the colors are!
Amazing lines with the top in place, thatís world class by itself.

As to the color of the paint, I saw a identically colored 7 series BMW today in the sun , And the amount of ďflopĒ in the paint was incredible , I suspect thatís the issue youíre having?

Staggering tires is common in many sporty cars, my BMWs did as does my current Corvette. Those same mfgrs also love using two or three rim diameters also in different packages.

Correct..... and if those tabs get bent, the flash can slide too far, resulting in no contact, or worse the flash shoe can jam on the camera shoe.

Electric shutter eliminates most mechanical shock in the body. Theory is eliminates movements.
Pixel shifting on a tripod the only thing where it is advantageous.

That said Iíve never used mine

My suspicion is the take up clutch is slipping. Is the roll loose when removing it? As you did have the advance repaired, itís all in the same area.

Iíve got a box that all my boxes , straps, cases, extra do dads from cameras past present . So it sits on the box until I decide to see how much junk Iíve acquired over the last year, then I close the box and forget about it until my next purchase. I do stack my tripod and monopod on top, ready to go.

Underneath the decorative spring trim clip is a plastic pin, so the hot shoe is switched. Reason given was if a sync cord was plugged in, you would get the trigger voltage as a shock without the safety switch .
If the shoe had fallen off or loosened the pin will drop out or inside.

Thanks![emoji3517] Iíve aged well!
I had a number of Screw mount Leicas, and Retinaís both which used the auxiliary VFís. I saw the older Leicas in my repair shop, as we did a large number of them.

This just popped up on Pinterest, as it sold for $2.78 million!

Great question, I will say it started well before flash photography was around .
I remember Leicas from the 20ís with accessory shoes to hold viewfinders and later a newfangled device called a rangefinder to help focusing.

I might add donít depend on Wikipedia to tell you that, the do know they were around before 1970!!!

ďBefore the 1970s, many cameras had an "accessory shoe" intended to hold accessories including flashes that connected electrically via a cable, external light meters, special viewfinders, or rangefinders. These earlier accessory shoes were of standard shape and had no electrical contacts; contacts were added to produce the hot shoe.Ē
