Item for Sale
Takumar bayonet 80-200mm f4.5

Asking Price
70.00 CAD

Item Location
Nova Scotia (Canada)

Item Description
A Takumar standard of quality item - all metal, rugged and precise. The quality of the images are excellent when modern post processing software is used making this lens a top choice for those who want to get into the 80-200mm bracket. It is a manual lens that can be used with the famous Pentax "Catch in focus" feature. Great for wildlife and sports alike. The zoom operates via a slider which is a preferred system that prevents changes to pre-focused settings, great for wildlife photography.

Included with the lens is a soft lens case as shown and a Marumi 52mm DHG Super Lens Protect filter, one of the best on the market.

I'm selling because I have received my D FA 70-210mm for use with my K1 markII.

May I suggest my Berlebach ash wood tripod that is for sale here: Berlebach tripod Report 3024 - PentaxForums.com
As for the head, I have a Cullman (another German make) ball head which is a rock and a standard 3 way head for astro and studio work which I'm keeping.

For those who may be wondering, after getting my K1 II I sold both converted DA* lenses - the 16-50 and 50-135 - at normal market prices. I seems that people are happy with the screw drive over the SDM which, in my opinion, is not a big deal and pushes the price new up too much... The new full frame D FA SDMs are much better.

Just a reminder that this tripod was reduced sometime ago, to $300CAD from 350 that's +/- 230 bucks US shipped. A steal for German quality hardware that is also great for astrophotography fitted with all the best gizmos around that help get sharp images.

Item for Sale
Berlebach tripod Report 3024

Asking Price
350.00 CAD

Item Location
Halifax (Canada)

Item Description

New price: $300CAD

Extremely stable tripod built by surveyor's standards. German made ash wood construction makes it impervious to weather and workable in any conditions, equivalent and may be better than carbon fibre but for some the weight may be a problem - you can't have everything for free...! It has worked wonders for my 360 panos where I need stability and strength.
This is the Report 3042 similar to the newer model 342 (which costs $400US+taxes), the difference being that there is only one (1) bubble level on the movable column that ensures that you camera is level - the most important one for me since panos require a level camera. The legs have 3 opening positions - 30, 60 and 100
One tightening knob on a leg was broken and repaired with epoxy resin and has worked well for that 8 years.

This tripod will work wonders for astro photography with a camera and hardware or binoculars and all work requiring stability.

Weight: 3,40 kg = 7.50 lbs.
• Packed length: 92 cm = 36 inches
• Minimum height: 53 cm = 21 inches
• Maximum height: 187 cm = 74 inches
• Load tolerance: 10,00 kg = 22.05 lbs.

Item for Sale
DA* 50-135mm f2.8

Asking Price
480.00 USD

Item Location
Halifax (Canada)

Item Description
This lens has always had the best reviews on the forum, seldom used and still in mint condition since I owned it from mid 2012. The SDM was deactivated after experiencing incidents long after I bought it - problem known to many of you on the first issues of this system. Deactivation was done by our forum member Uncle Vania and the screw drive is immaculate with minimal noise so I still wonder why the SDM system was first installed?
The lens comes with the original lens bag, both caps and the lens hood.
Selling because I'm finally converting to the K1 mark II system.

You're welcome, send me a PM if you need more info. Consider bracketing your shots too, 5 at least so you can cover all the range, the K70 does that and your fisheye is great too.

Yes, I do some VR and 360 panos and Pano2VR is the best around for that. It you want to upgrade to higher resolution panos using DSLR (K5, K3, K1...) and fisheyes the preferred stitching software is PTGui - the best around - lot's of fun.

Most of the answers are correct but I didn't see anyone mentioning using exposures in manual. I do 5 bracket HDR full 360 panos and the this is the only way to have a stable set of brackets. f8.0 usually works pretty well at 2EV brackets, the more the better like 5 and you can delete the extreme ones as required. Using a Ki allows you to jack up the ISO to 800 if you're afraid to go below 1/10 shutter speed or using f11 . If you can use a tripod there is no problem going below 1/10. The other recommandation is to manually focus because the AF may change at each shot and make tests when you choose the focusing point for proper DOF - a wide angle lens is better.
One more thing, I never had good results with in-camera HDR - just "OK", but that's me, since I use Photomatix Pro.
Have a good time,
