[joke]Yeah, we're SO far behind...especially since it was Apple who gave us reliable floppy drives, mice, colour screens, fonts, colour sync and photoshop. Windoze gave us what, again? Oh yeah, green phosphorus displays, DOS, viruses, and the blue screen of death![/joke]

Sony ergonomics are TERRIBLE. And I, personally, would miss hyperprogram mode.

had 'eye-focus' technology in the early 90's. You just look around in the viewfinder an it was supposed to focus on what you were looking at. It didn't. It was terrible.

Cameron

...back in the 90's. It was awful.

Completely doable in a dslr, though.

Sigma stops K-Mount support

They lost me 25 years ago when they were 'taping' in the front elements of their 300 F2.8s...

And, by way of logic, K Mount has now officially stopped all Sigma support.

While I don't mourn the loss of their lenses, it IS a bad sign for Pentax, and a wake-up call to get their marketing together.

Cameron

APSC the 21 Limited is actually about 32.5 or something. It is truly a magnificent lens for travel and for pretty much EVERYTHING. Check out my review here:

Canon had that in the 90's...in the film days.

A LOT of technology and power going into someone too lazy to push a button.

Handheld, in a dark nightclub, ISO 3200, 1/40th, F3.5, Pentax K3ii.

Studio shot:

Just do it, and sell your Stigma...you could buy another Limited!

Screw them if they won't support Pentax!

I do make a little bit of money on the side with photography, so of course I'm automatically considered a 'professional' and home insurance will do nothing. Same with car insurance. I'm strictly part time, there should be a category for me, but it's either ridiculously expensive 'pro' insurance, as if I'm doing 10 weddings a week, or nothing at all.

The sucks. I'f you see any of these for sale near or in Mexico, please let me know. I can't really see them being a big seller in PV, but maybe Guadalajara.

Thanks,
Cameron

Hard to tell. I either left them at a club, or they were taken from the rental car by a valet at the botanical gardens the next day, or he left the car open and someone else did (they were locked in the trunk, I believe; I never leave anything visible in the car) or else someone at the car rental place took them when we returned it. The last time I used them was at a music venue downtown.

And thanks for all the other bits of advice. I was hoping somebody might spot them for sale somewhere. I will dig the serial #s out.

Depressed,
Cameron

Not really sure how it happened, but they are GONE! If anyone sees or has heard anything, please help get my small collection back.

It was:

DA 15mm F4

DA 40mm F2.8

DA 10-17 Fisheye zoom

Both of the limited were of the black variety with green bands (SMC not HD)

All were pretty much immaculate, with original hoods and caps, both front and rear.

They were housed in a Pentax Limited Lens Case #2, along with a polarizer, an ND filter, and a lens cleaning cloth. Please be on the lookout for this stuff. They may be in Guadalajara, or by now they could've made their way anywhere.

Thank you everyone; this totally SUCKS!!!

Cameron

PS: Sorry, mods, not really sure where to put this.

DA* 55 1.4 SDM Problem
Posted By Cambo

My 60-250 failed as soon as I got it home. Sent it in fr warranty repairs. Got it back, worked great, optically superb, but it is not a focal length I use very much, so it has long periods of dormancy.. Picked it up one day, would nt work, kept pushing and pushing the autofocus button, finally swung back to life, and it works fine all day after that. A few days in the box and it's dead again; the longer you leave it, the more it takes to come back to life. I thought it was capacitors as well. I've been living with this problem ever since, and just remembering to prime the lens every time. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago it started >>>SQUEAKING<<< on focussing, which finally prompted me to take it back AGAIN. Two week back east in Pentax Canada (I'm assuming Toronto somewhere), they can't fix it, and now the lens has been sent back to Pentax Japan for it's second overhaul.

I sure hope they get this thing working. To be honest, I was thinking of selling it, not because of this issue, but because I use it so rarely. I'm more of a Limited/prime kind of guy. And that thing's so big, heavy, obtrusive and intimidating, I rarely take it travelling.

Yeah, SDM sucks, it's time to abandon it.

So it's stiction, you think? My 16-85 works great, always, so that's not a piezo motor?

Cheers,
Cameron
