I guess not too bad) actually, after using the GR for a bit, I feel I'm under using my crop mode on K-1, maybe should get few small DA primes.

hmm, so if 36mp crop to apsc on K-1 gives roughly 16mp, what would it be with a x2 crop? If they're using a 45mp sensor from Sony for example. Around 12mp?

But the beauty of mft system is that you can buy any mft body, and use any lens from the system. I had the olympus body yet mainly used the panaleica 25 1.4, with 45 1.8 oly and samyang 12 2 in the bag, I had a full street and travel kit that was very light and fit into one tiny sling style bag. I preferred the Em1 body style, but Panasonic offerings were equally nice, it's just when I was buying the Em1 Panasonic wasn't offering ibis yet.

Olympus lenses are very good. I had the 17 1.8 and it was a beautiful fully metal lens, tiny and sharp. Although I did eventually swapped it out to Pana 25, back then I was craving shallow dof)

Also, mft system has very nice telephoto offerings now (200 2.8, 100-400mm), the Panasonic ones mostly, but the olympus 40-150 2.8 is also quite awesome from what I've seen on it.

MFT has a nice line up of lenses as well, plus the best IBIS (smaller sensor makes it easier), great video, compactness (used to carry my whole kit in a small backpack, now I don't carry more than 2 lenses with me), and a lot of firmware updates that bring new features often. I'd hate to see it go (although I'm not a part of it anymore), it is an interesting branch of a photography community.

I thought mf (ones in 645z and 50s) is around 30% larger than ff.

Both mf systems are interesting to me, just out of range a bit for now :)

Yeah it's pretty much confirmed. Fuji is set to release 2 more MF bodies, a super high res 50R, and a rangefinder style entry model with lower spec. However, I think i'll wait another generation, and see what Pentax shows later on, they have a much broader lens line up, and I'd like to stay within the ecosystem)

Actually, I think if I was to upgrade, it'd be to MF. I'm mainly a landscape photography enthusiast, and I could pixel peep the higher res and color depth of an mf sensor to death))

Maybe if Pentax released a MF Milc in next 5 years, that'd be my upgrade path.

I'd like to stay within Pentax ecosystem in future

Do you mean the 645z output? Does 645z have better raw files? Just curious, since I don't own either camera

I should've gone to b&h last time I was in nyc, try to hold the 50s, see how it feels in hands. I hear af isn't great, making it a landscape/fine art/studio camera, which is fine with me. I also heard output is amazing

I've been keeping away mostly, not very interested in the Z cameras so far, they seem sort of half baked at this stage. But I'm very curious what Panasonic and oly can bring to the table. I really liked my previous olympus camera, and I like the mft system overall, just can't justify two systems at this point. I probably won't be buying the first Gen ff milc from any of those, but when upgrading k-1 will be feasible, Pentax would have to really sweep me off my feet with K-2 :)

Yeah, I haven't considered what it would do to the rental companies. Also, used market will be full of good stuff lol

I meant the Fuji GFX 50S, the one that entered the market last year. I know they have a MF rangefinder style camera, like a larger Xpro2, sounds like it will be more affordable (although, for the image quality, 50s is reasonably priced, as well as the 645z)

I've seen some high praise, and very nice images come out of the Fuji MILC MF. While it's out of my price range, I can appreciate what they did with that camera. And it's lighter than my K-1 at 827g. Although I'd imagine the MF lenses are hefty :) (haven't used MF yet)

Would be cool if Oly and Panasonic can team up for a new FF mount as they did for mft. With both companies experience with MILC systems, they can really compete with Sony i think, and quickly fill out the lens line up. I remember reading Olympus patenting FF designs few years ago, I wonder if they were planning to go FF as well in near future.
