If Pentax would release a FF ML camera with the features of the K1 without Pentaprism, probably it will be easier to do it in the Ricoh brand.
I like the features of the K1 and they are very useful, work great and are easy to understand. Other FF MLs work different and more or less not that good.

Im looking for a ML FF camera this year. The lenses Id mount will be a Contax-G set and Takumars. If it will be a Ricoh or Pentax (with the same features like the K1), ... :))

Hello Dave

I did some examples with different flat field copy lenses here:
K-1 for converting slides ? - Page 3 - PentaxForums.com
(In the meantime I've inspected the copied test slide in the left corner down and I've realized that the test slide is not sharp there.)

The SMC 50/f4, which comes close to the Schneider Apo-Componon 45mm enlarging lens in reproduction quality, I've mounted reverse on the K1. I would suggest to use the SMC-Version for slide copying because of the better coating.
The old 1:1 version would be my favorite as well for walking around.

The fa 24/2 is a very good lens stopped down to f5.6 or 8. when full open mine is less sharp in detail and has CA in corners. I do also have the Zeiss Flektogon 4/20 in M42, which is in my view perfect for landscapes and close ups. The sharpness in corners may be an issue for other purposes but it is better than the Tak 20/4.5 in M42. The Tak 20/4.5 resolves the details in the center a little different, may be better.

Hello
the monocular converter K would be a nice addition within the serial database. It is such a good thing to use, that it is worth to file it also at this place, even if there are probably only a few around.
Thank you for processing and have a good time
Erich, the exposeric

I think, the 75 - 150 M zoom lens is probably not often offered because it looks like to have no value.
For me it is a very nice and easy macro lens when mounted reverse.

K-1 for converting slides ?

Hi Chuck
In my first album here at PF there are a few photos made from '74 with a Ricoh rangefinder camera and from '84 with Leica M. All are on Kodachrome and before scanning I helped me with an 'air rubber brush' to put the dust away. I used again window light and I would recommend strongly soft light for scanning. The scans I processed in camera for framing (cutting away the slide mount) and in Silky Pix to adjust in some scans the white balance using the white adjustment tool. I did also the scale down in Silky Pix.
Cheers
Eric

With direct flash the light is hard. If the light is soft (reflecting white panel e. g.) you will probably have less white spots. I would cross check the Vivitar with a 50mm f4 Macro Takumar if possible. For me CA is no issue at f8 with that lens.
