Our bluebirds fledged. All 4 babies in the span of about 2-3 hours (if that) on July 1. Thought some may fly on 6/30 (which some of these pics were from). These are a couple quick jpg edits (forgot to get rid of the hot pixels in some). I haven't done anything with the DNGs yet. Some are 100% crops. Not too shabby for an older camera and even older MF lens methinks.

Here was one of my better ones. This just from the jpg, cropped to 800 x 600, then denoised the jpg artifacts, adjusted curves to give a blacker background, resized to 1200 x 900, and then unsharp mask.
Shot with K20D + SMC Pentax (K) 400/5.6 @ f/8

Misc Home Bar Project

Haven't been doing much photography lately because other hobbies, life, and work get in the way. But, I have been chronicaling a DIY home project I've been working on for awhile. It has morphed from a home bar into a home English Pub and I'm currently working on the "Judge's Paneling" for the walls. I'm going to upgrade one of the windows too, so that's slowing things down a little, plus have had to mill my own trim since I couldn't find any in a Roman Ogee pattern. Anywho, here's a couple shots spaced-out over time to where it's at today...

I know the feeling. Same with me. Good intentions, but with how busy I've been I forgot to even start the month. There's always January I guess.

I may try to jump back in with the Auto Rikenon f1.4/55mm M42. I've been sporadic at shooting except for documenting projects and the occaisional trip. Perhaps this will motivate me. I haven't really used this lens since purchasing it as I discovered a scratch on the rear element when I received it. I had been trying to get a Tomioko lens for awhile, and thought this one would fit the bill, but the scratch put me off. I'll need the wide aperture too since it's winter here.

Glad you decided to keep with the 85. What's 8mm anyway (vs the 77) on full frame that you can't learn to take a step back. I have to agree with Sara even though I haven't been around this forum much lately. Haven't been shooting much of anything lately actually, as I've been trying to finish the bar I'm building. However, as a member of the Original Single in September, which started this long-running absurdity, the whole point of the month is to learn the lens. Unless there's a mechanical failure or some other such issue, challenge yourself to do new and different things with the lens you start with: abstracts, minimalism, throw an extension tube on and do macro, etc... That'll keep the interest going. Here's my ongoing project. Clicking it will lead to my flickr album of it.
