Is Natura 1600 the same thing?

I know that the Industrial films are reported to be standard Superia, however some reported them to have less saturation and contrast. Don't know what's going on.

I saw this film stocked by B&H. Fujifilm CU 135-36 Fujicolor Superia 1600 Color Print 15413006

Anyone have any idea what this is? Is it related in anyway to the Natura 1600?

MZ-M Battery Door

The small tab that connects the door and the body has a white line on it. I believe that it is plastic extended too far or being folded. I realized that the door is not hinged like modern DSLRs.

Hello,

Recently I noticed that something similar to a crack developed on the battery door of my MZ-M. Could anyone give some input on
- How bad this is (currently the camera still turns on)
- Will the use of a battery grip FG make it worse (I have recently ordered one but can't find any information on how it is installed, Google didn't give me the manuals)?

Sincerely

I am considering the AF201FG, and I wounder what I can do with this flash if my body does not support P-TTL (i.e. MZ-M, Nikkormat, and Sony before Cactus figures everything out - I have emailed them about this question).

Hello,

I have a K-S2, a MZ-M, a K-S2, a Sony (new hotshoe), and a Nikkormat. I would like to know what auto flashs would you recommend. I do not need a high GN, but it needs to be portable, and possibly have a rotating head.

Halo Effect with A 24-50/4

Hello,

I got my scans back shot with the Pentax MZ-M and A 24-50/4. The film used was Lomography 800, and I saw a very interesting halo effect around the high-contrast edges of some images (see below). I haven't seen anything like this before. Could anyone give some input on what it is?

Normal Zoom for K-S2 to Replace HD DA 20-40 Limited

What about the Sigma 17-50/2.8? It seems to be the closest match to the DA 20-40 if I give up the FF requirement (good IQ, has a silent motor). But it seems that the dock is not supported, so I don't know if I can fix things like back focusing.

Normal Zoom for K-S2 to Replace HD DA 20-40 Limited

Hello,

SquareTrade just dropped me line that they cannot repair my HD DA 20-40 and will be sending me a check. I do have an A 24-50 which I bought when I was in China as a temporary replacement. However now I would like to get an autofocus lens for this focal length. I do not want to spend more than 200-300 bucks on this lens (the exact amount will depend on how much SquareTrade gives me), and ideally it should be an FF lens with an aperture ring (because I still have a few film SLRs and I have also gotten myself a Sony a7 which I intend to share lenses with).

I have considered F 24-50 but no one on eBay seems to be offering it at an reasonable price. I have also considered the FA 24-90 which has a similar focal range and aperture on the K-S2 compared to the Minolta 24-105 on my Sony, but the price also seem to have skyrocketed. Are there any other options (doesn't have to be Pentax, as long as it has performance on par or better with A 24-50 and can autofocus), or should I hold on to my A 24-50 for now?

Sincerely

The IR index seems to be right on the visible light index, my guess is that it is CA corrected for not only both visible light but also near IR. Any ideas?

The strap is from the Chinese brand Cam-in. Not sure if they are sold in the US, though.

Yep, in conditions I would say to be a 9/10.

Finally made the jump to digital FF with a used Sony a7 Frankenstein kit.

- a7, used with 4k shutter count for $775.
- LA-EA4 open box for $277.
- Minolta AF 24-105/3.5-4.5 D, uses VG with hood and caps for $123.
- Minolta AF 50/3.5, used VG with caps for $82.

While I appreciate AF, I still found FA43 a good companion of this body. And my M42 glass also looks cool.

Metabones 0.5x Speed Booster for Pentax Q cameras

It's a telecompressor, which is pretty common for M43 and APS-C sensor mirrorless cameras.

Telecompressor - Wikipedia

For example, I have a Mitakon Lens Turbo II with a 0.726x crop factor, that accepts full-frame K mount lenses and adapts them onto a Sony APS-C mirrorless with a 1.5x crop factor. I usually couple this with my FA43Ltd, and I get a combo that is "close enough" to a true normal:
- the effective focal length is 43*0.726*1.5 ~= 47(mm);
- effective aperture in terms of light gathering ability is 1.9*0.726 ~= 1.4;
- the max aperture in terms of DOF is 1.9*0.726*1.5 ~= 2.0.

So I basically gets a lens that has a 47mm FOV, has the light gathering ability of 1.4, and has similar bokeh and DOF of 2.0 wide open.

Tamron Adaptall-2 28A and MF Body Question

28A is their SP 28-135/4-4.5 lens with close-up capabilities on the 28 end.

A used vanilla a7 lists around 700-900 bucks on eBay, while a used K-1 seems to list for around 1700 bucks the last time I checked. I am also doing videography so Sony's edge in video is also a plus point.

And I currently own a NEX-6 (which will be sold if I decide to upgrade) alongside my K-S2 and film FF cameras. So I have no problem focusing with live view/EVF and peaking.

I wonder how will the separation affect the performance of a Chinon 55/1.4. I have a GAF 55/1.4 which looks very much like my Chinon 55/1.7 in terms of cosmetics, so I am assuming it's the Chinon 55/1.4 with another name plate.

As for the K-mount 1.4, I am only aware of a 50/1.4, is that the one you are referring to?

Tamron Adaptall-2 lenses also has a corresponding ES adapter. I got mine with a used 35-70/3.5 but I am not using it now as it seems my SP F needs a CLA and I can't find anyone in China who can do it.

Tamron Adaptall-2 28A and MF Body Question
Posted By butangmucat

Hello,

After missing important shots in two past photo trips because of my reliance on an all-prime kit, I have decided to buy a Tamron Adaptall-2 28A lens for my SP-F, K-mount film bodies (ME Super, MZ-M, and Cosina CT1 Super), and my possible upcoming FF digital mirrorless (probably a used Sony, as K-1 is way out of budget).

I noticed the lens only has a 4.5 max aperture, and would like to know how bad could this impact the focusing experience on MF bodies. The upcoming digital FF is not too much of a worry because of its EVF and focus peaking. However I have read that some microprisms and split prisms perform badly at apertures below f4. So I would like some input on what to expect.

MZ-M and f1.2 Lenses Question

My MZ-M just came back from a CLA and metal gear upgrade. Haven't tested it yet. But I doubt I can actually see this because I only use color negative films.

I was confused by both the manual and this page (English is not my first language) and I might need some help.

Just to make sure, my understanding is that the lens the manual is talking about is the A50/1.2, and it will overexpose in Av mode.

My Posrt came with a non conductive mount (the mount is covered with black paint), and I have taped the area where the FA contacts are with a metallic conductive tape to make my K-S2 work with it. Is this the equivalent of putting an A50/1.2 out of A mode?

Hello,

I was reading the manual of my MZ-M and I saw there is a line that the exposure will be off with SMC Pentax 50/1.2. Is this specific to this lens or is a problem with all 1.2 lenses? I use a Porst 55 1.2.

Failed MZ-M: Plastic Gear Issue?

For some reason there are still some shops here in China that has the right metal gear (either recycled, original, or just OEM compatible parts). I sent mine out to a guy who charged 200 RMB for the gear replacement and a clean on the viewfinder focusing screen (the previous owner didn't keep it clean), that is around 30 USD, just FYI.

P.S. They will usually keep the motor intact, but just replace the broken gear.
