After seeing a very promising weather forecast I set off for Perch Rock Lighthouse at New Brighton on the Wirral last night. As seems ever the case though the forecast forgot to mention the increasing cloud, fortunately I still managed to catch a few glimpses of sun and as a bonus the cloud actually added a little more drama to the sky.

Be interesting to know your favourite (if any) and why?

thanks

Simon

Am I nuts to sell a K20D and get a closeout K5?

You absolutely wouldn't regret it...I owned the K20D and deliberated about the K5 for quite a while, my only regret is that I didn't but one earlier, far better than the K20

It's been a while but the sun has appeared at last here in North Wales. The shot is of South Stack lighthouse on the Isle of Anglesey, it's set in a rather dramatic location

Thanks

Simon

Thanks...apologies I mistyped the description (sorted now) the first 2 shots were actually taken in what they call "waterfall country" near the Brecon Beacons area in South Wales

Apologies for being so late getting back to this one...thanks everyone for the comments, it's certainly a situation where B&W rules as the colour version just doesn't work

Thanks for the kind words everyone...the lighting on the sculpture was a bonus of it being quite close to a main road, the tungsten street lights were enough to add the nice warm glow

No 2 minutes were the same on our trip  on the day of our first day trip it snowed in Reykjavic early morning just before setting out, quite heavily, on the South Shore road it was glorious sunshine and about 40 minutes afterwards rain for a short while, on the way back hail stones the sizes of golf balls attacked us at the second waterfall stop, we arrived back in Reykjavic in glorious sunshine...quite a mixture and that's from someone who lives in the UK, North Wales

It's a stunning place...tricky question you ask though, I think if it was purely as a tourist then it's ticked off my list and I'd not go back as I've plenty still to see...on the other hand I'm very tempted to revisit purely for photography reasons as just in the short time I was there, even on the organised tours we used, it's clear that the place is a photographers paradise!!
