Latest acquisition. A 1952 Agfa Billy 1. It's one of the cheapest ways to get into 6x9 medium format. It's just been CLA'd.
Ilford HP5, Ilfotec LC29.

This last one is interesting. If you look at the bottom right hand corner you'll see a light leak flare. When I was getting the film out of the camera I dropped it and it started to unravel. I assumed the whole roll would be ruined. But it was just this corner. It shows how effective the black backing of 120 film is.

The gizzards of my Gents 30-second impulse master clock: Praktica MTL3 (pure nostalgia kick, bought off eBay 'cos it was the first 35mm SLR I owned back in '79), Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50mm f2.8 lens, Ilford HP5 developed in DD-X. Offset undiffused flashgun.

I was amazed that it looked almost unused, original strap with an IR remote on one side pocket and the viewfinder "blackout" in the other strap pocket.
It also came with the BG-10 grip and is the beautiful silver edition. When I am out shooting nobody has a clue this is a film camera until they hear it
rewind and I open it up to change the film...

I'm afraid what you see is the tip of the iceberg. I have a 'hierarchy-of-clutter' insofar as when I'm done with it in the office, it goes to the boxroom until such time elapses as it's relegated to the shed. Then it's to the recycle place.

A week later, I need it!

That multimeter in my 'shelfie' shot, BTW, the one in the corner of my desk by the drawer? It's here: same film, into DD-X for 9 mins at 21C. 20mm extension tube and 50mm f1.4 Pentax SMC M lens this time. TTL Metered on a grey card and illuminated with a naked Philips 'Photolita' No:1 photoflood lamp.

I have developed a new tool for PF which can show you the compatibility between any Pentax digital camera and any first-party or any current third-party lens.

I consider it in beta stage, which means there can be inaccuracies in the information while we iron out missing pieces of data. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Fotgrafiska in Stockholm is advertised as a photography museum but it's not a museum at all - it's a display centre which can host several sizeable exhibitions at a time. I very much enjoyed my visit and the views over the water at sunset are lovely.

New 645z in 2018?

I have both the 645D and the 645Z as well as the Sony a7R and a7R III and I still can do more with the files and trust the pentax systems over the sony's. Unfortunately the lenses besides a few are from another era and diminish the systems quality potential. A modern zoom (200 or 300), a 85mm or similar for portraits (the 150mm is to vintage now) and a higher end version of the 55m would be good. If they do come up with a 100mp crop sensor most of the current lenses won't hold up at all.

New 645z in 2018?

Yeah I just cant't see how they can even have a competitive offering in the pipeline. Their entire system is built around the OVF, which is fine, but this means that their body will be much larger as we know. But this means that in order to be competitive their lenses have to be well priced and smaller than the mirrorless alternatives, but that is not the case, especially when you look at the 28-45 and 90mm lenses.

Could they go full frame in the 645Z body, yes sure, but then what about all the 28-45mm lenses that we have all purchased for crop body only? It all makes just no sense at all. If I could speculate, I would say that Pentax did not see the writing on the wall with mirrorless even coming to medium format and its hit them for a six.

Heck, Hasselblad is coming out with a 21mm (yes 21mm !) f/4 lens for the X1D. That will be a 16mm equivalent and it takes filters.

I am on board to stay with Pentax for now, given that I have a renewed appreciation for the OVF in my 645z and I love the feeling of a Pentax in my hands. Its just hard to stay on board when you see so many great things happening in the market and Pentax not even following through on a simple lens roadmap.

New 645z in 2018?

645z update? There is not a new 44x33mm sensor from Sony, except for the to-be-very-expansive 100MP one. Without a new affordable sensor, I don't see how 645z in the current form factor can be updated.

Pentax goes mirrorless? That will be very nice. However, given how slow they have been in the past few years in introducing new DSLR cameras or lenses, I can hardly believe they will produce a mirrorless medium format camera all a sudden.

I really want to see new things coming out from Pentax, but I don't have high hope.

Alphabet Race (a very quick game)

I thought, for something different, I would suggest a rather quick game, if all are agreeable.

Lets call it "The Alphabet Race"

I start with a picture, subject starting with A
Next can follow with subject letter B etc etc.

Now I know this may only last a two or three days, yet then again, who knows.

Jump on board if you think its worth a go:) Can even try and keep a bit of rhyme going to try our literary talents as well.

A is for ANT so very very small

Hi everyone !
I am so glad I found this site.
I have aggressively pursued photography my entire life as an experienced armature .
Purchased a KP right when they came out about a year ago because it reminded me of a LX Camera from the past that I used to own.

Before that it was several Spotmatics that I bought new (tells my age), then 2 KX's and even a LX for several years.

More recently about 5 years ago I started Digital with a K5 and also a K30 (broke 3 times) , and now its a new KP that im just beginning to feel comfortable with.

I am a 3 decade member of the Camera Guild in Sun City , Az.
Met a Pentax Forum member there recently , and he showed me this site. Im excited and very Grateful.

At 88 I just may be one of the oldest members here , and Im looking forward to a solid 10 years posting my images , learning , making friends , and having fun !
