This wouldn't be possible if there wasn't a mechanical connection. As for your other questions, my most modern AF lens is the 18-55mm kit lens so I am not the most knowledgeable technical contact person

Sigma 70-200 f2.8 with optical stabilizer does it fit Pentax K3 II?

If it is a K mount it will fit. While there are some Sigma lenses that provide optical stabilising in K mount I am not sure the 70-200 mm is one of those (if it is make sure to either use SR or the lens stabiliser, not both at the same time).
I think some Sigma lenses will leave a scratch on the K-1 body, but with the K-3 you should be on the safe side

FA zooms: why the nadir of Pentax lens lines?

That's because during film era someone typically had some prints made in 9x13cm or 10x15cm and that's it (unless you had a certain application in mind or you developted and magnified your negatives yourself a slightly missed focus or optical flaws of the lens where not that noticeable.)
Nowadays every PC monitor is bigger than those prints and we arn't even talking about pixel peeping

I only have screwdrive AF lenses, so I can only repeat what I have read and not speak from experience. But I think the 55-300mm PLM lens is focused by wire when manually focused, so there are much fewer parts to move than in your 18-135mm lens which provides a mechanical connection between optical elements and focus ring.

Ultraviolet capable Pentax K lenses for K-1

I think you are on the right track here. As in the film days UV-filter actually had beneficial effects for the pictures, removing/preventing blue color casts in the images.
I don't have any experience with full-spectrum conversions, but for infrared photography zoom lenses sometimes produce weird spots in the image, because of the many glas elements. Therefore prime lenses are usually preferable, but I don't know if this is true for UV too.

Ratings and Reviews do you trust them and why?

Before I invested in my K-3 as my first DSLR I certainly looked for reviews online but I was fairly certain it would be a Pentax beforehand, because I already owned some K mount lenses.
Fortunately for me (not so much for my wallet :D) I even found a store which sold a K-3 at that time and after holding it in my hands the desicion was made (although I originally focused on the K30).

When buying lenses, reviews (mainly those from PF) are more important for my decision making. User-reviews and indepth-reviews alike, although I usually don't rely on the number values (for sharpness and the like) so much and concentrate more on the text and possible added pictures. The number values especially in user-reviews are in my opinion not that reliable, because everyone is on a different experience level not just how good their pictures are but also dependent on the number of lenses they own for comparison.

I see that in my own reviews, thereby that I every now and then adjust the number values according to my new findings with a recently acquired lens. The texts usually stay unchanged.

Tele-Lentar 400mm 6.3 - Aperture Blade Issue

With a solid backup plan like this, why hesitate now? :D
I had once a similar problem with my Pentacon 200/4. Unfortunately for me the necessary screws to disassemble it fully wouldn't move an inch so I had to push the aperture blade back in position with a little force (Luckily nothing broke and it is working ever since).
That said disassembling is still the better solution -> just take enough pictures on the way so you have some guidance for the reassembling process

I don't think a charged battery would make any difference. It might be some time limit to increase battery life from the start (like SR has to be activated with a half press every time, or LV beeing deactivated after a certain time of inactivity)

mirror stays up

Is the mirror going up again as soon as you enter the battery and turn the camera on or just after pressing the shutter button?
-In that case try another battery if you have one (I have read there where some problems sometimes although I never ran into them)
-another possibility is the "mirror flap" problem some K-3s develop (more on that here:K-3 Mirror Flap - Was It Ever Cured? - Page 2 - PentaxForums.com)

Next possibility user error: I think there are only 3 possible ways for that (not including number 4: something is faulty):
-LV is on (I guess we can exclude this possibility)
-Are you by any chance in Bulb mode? Although then the mirror would come down when pressing the shutter a second time. (M mode with a 30 sec exposure will result in an inability to do anything for that timelength)
-Mirror lockup for cleaning, can only be exited by turning the camera off I think (but the sensor wouldn't be floating in that instance, so we can exclude this posibility also)

You can search "lens calibration tool" on amazon for example. There are multible vendors for that kind of tool.
On the other hand it is such a simple setup you can build one yourself too

You could check focus accuracy the same way you would adjust it (with the help of a focus calibration tool -> a standing plate with some markings to AF upon and some kind of scale on an ascent next to it (You will need multible focusing tests from minimum focus distance to the target as well as from infinity to the target to establish a reliable starting point).
But the more fun way would be going out photographing for a day or two (using the optical view finder & therefore PDAF and not LV with it's CDAF) and checking on your computer afterwards if you can see any pattern in the images where AF didn't hit the mark.

Recommended settings for the camera can be found in the in-depth review on this forum:
Pentax K-70 Review - Recommended Settings | PentaxForums.com Reviews

The basics of photography are independent from the camera system you own and there are tremendous amounts of video tutorials on youtube.
There are also a lot of books available (like "understanding exposure" or the like)

When I made the step from analog to digital photography (my first DSLR beeing the K-3) I didn't read any book, instead I used the triel-and-error method. The menu is in my opinion in large parts selfexplanatory.
Nevertheless it is possible to buy an eBook for the K70 on this forum. I never bought one so I can't say how good they are:

Infinity focus issue?

You should be able to adjust infinity focus on your own, it is usually pretty easy on MF lenses.

If you can't reach infinity focus your minimum focus distance should be nearer as usual and if you can go past infinity your minimum focus won't go as close as it should, but that is usually a negligible amount you won't even recognize. -> so better adjust infinity focus for your camera/lens combination it's more important than your minimum focus distance
