Nice one. I have shot plenty of Quirang shots, but on the slopes that are treeless. This makes it quite special.

Lovely indeed! Seen any salmon?

The sharpening seems a bit overdone on my laptop, but it could just be the laptop!

The greed and injustice comment was of course not related to the photograph and could in a way be related to any castle or mansion. I was thinking about the infamous Sutherland clearances in the first decades of the 19th C.

I would say in the late eighties when they were late in adopting autofocus and in developing new lenses. Their bread and butter market was the espio compact cameras, a market almost totally gone now.
Then again late in the digital era with the *istD and late in offering a full frame camera.

composing in 4:3 easier than 3:2

In the film era I loved the 6x6 frame, both for portrait and landscape. In the digital age I seem to prefer 16:9, probably because of the dimensions of the screen.
3:2 is a bit of nothing, just between the better looking options...

Luckily cropping is easy nowadays; a viewfinder with 16:9 overlay would be nice though!

I am very happy with my M85 2.0. Very small, very nice rendering.
Used for portraits it is great; I have no problem using it for landscape @ 4.0 either.

hi Remco,

I have been to the north of Groningen a few times. My wife wants to visit Zeeland somewhere this spring. I'll see if I can get her to change to Friesland and perhaps Ameland or Terschelling...

I read you like to visit Norway. I have been there only once, but we are very often in Scotland. Different, but in the same league I would say.

67D with DFA 55-135 zoom?
Won't be full frame though with a 48x64mm sensor.

[ just to make sure - this isn't a serious guess... ]

So this new DFA* 50 1.4 is marketed for cappucino users, while the old FA 50 1.4 was more for espresso people?
Or do I still not get it?
