I find that the lens shine exceptionally under natural light. |

Jay, how can you make shots like this look so good?? I'm beginning to think "The Jsherman shots control my mind now" :)
....ok i digress. back to the topic.
I'm also a prodigal son back with the K-5 after a year's fling with D700. The D700 would be so heavy, no matter what prime you put on it.
Beauty of K-5 is in the small size and the nice quiet shutter.

Interesting study. I'm surprised that all the photos taken by the Tamron Adaptall models look most pleasing to me. But could it be due to the longer focal length ? Could FL be one of the missing links to great bokeh ???

It did look like a very tricky exposure. But you nailed it, awesome shots. Any photo of the whole car?

Excellent shots, Joni....what's more impressive is that you got them handheld!

Holly sh*T this is hardly a walkabout lens for most :) But these flora shots are great!
But the glowing edges one is really novel (to me at least).

This was my first time shooting slide film and wow, the colours really blew me away. Even the processed film is nice to look at against the light. :p
Equipment used :
Pentax Mz-5n, SMC F 50mm f/1.7, Agfa Precisa CT100 |

I thank all of you for your responses. It seemed like a case of underexposure. I've looked through other of my photos and there are always noise in the black, purple and dark blue areas....but I thought it shouldn't happen at lowest ISO?
Nonetheless, I will do a EV+1 and test out further.

Hi Matam, thanks for responding.
Yes FL was 55mm. But this happened to all the photos even at the centers. I didn't post the centres coz they were family shots.
I'm actually more concerned abt the rendering of the darks , see the dark-coloured shirts of the subjects. Very very noisy. I didn't really expect that from the acclaimed sensor.

Recently shot some photos in bright daylight, outdoors, and at closer look, the 100% crop is quite smudgy and lost most of the details. Yes it was shot in JPG 3stars but i don't think it should be that bad. Does anyone else have the same prob?
Setup:
K-x, 18-55mm L, ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/250
I've shot K100D, K10D, K20D but this is quite bad compared to them.
Actual Photo:
100% Crop: Notice the dark colours (noise??) , the subjects' hair is all smudgy. |

Having handled my K-x vs other user's K-7, I find the following reasons to upgrade:
- Much better handholding grip
- Much quieter shutter & mirror slap
- AA rechargeables , be it eneloops or recykos, still give me half-life durations despite upgrading to a better charger. K-7's lithium rechargeable packs more punch, and is easier to change.
can u imagine popping in 4 AA batteries on the move, vs popping in one Li-on.
The thing that kept pulling me back was that sweet 12mp sensor. How I wish "someone" can make a BG for K-x .
