Altopiet, you are right. It seems that only a fraction of a millimeter causes the problem, because when I did the test a few weeks ago i turned the focussing past 30ft. More suprinsingly is, that I tested it again today and I didn't have problems even at infinity. I checked if lens and adapter(offical one from pentax) is screwed in correctly and everything seems normal. Really strange... .(If the mirror is stuck only sometimes then this might explain why some have the problem and some not.) So testing your lens is a good idea.
Nevertheless I think I will file off a tiny part - just for safety reasons.

I have also a K20D and the Yashinon DX F/1.7. At infinity I can take a photo, so the mirrors goes up, but its not going down afterwards and the viewfinder remains black, so the mirror is apparently stuck. If I Turn the focus ring away from infinity then the mirror goes down and everything is alright. My camera is still working so if the mirror is stuck only once, it will unlikly cause any damage.
I have read that you can avoid this problem with some "adjustments" to the fringe of the rear lens. You only have to file off 1 or 2 mm of the fringe.
(I haven´t tried it yet, because you need some skills with a file if you don't want to damage the lens.)

Hi,
I am considering to buy a new lens with 1:1 macro ability, but I don't like shooting flowers, insects or bugs. My question is for what else you can use the macro mode of such a lens(coins don't count).
So if you have any creative shots of inanimate objects it would be nice if you post them here to give me some inspiration. A little sentence on what you like about your lens would be nice too.
Thanks,
Bismuth

I am also interested in this lens, especially because in Germany it is a lot cheaper than the DA21(380 vs. 510 €), so I googled a bit and found this review(even in English): Voigtländer Color Skopar 20/3.5 SLII
Note that this test is not from a pro but still useful and the samples look promising.
Of course some impressions from users here would also help a lot.

Thanks for the nice welcome.
Hopefully not, at least I haven't met anybody with this name.
It's a chemical element and the name comes from the German word wismut and it was first discovered in Saxony the region I come from. It produces also very colorful and bizarre looking crystals.

A nice hello from (you already guessed it) Germany.
I started with photography as a hobby this year when I bought my K20D. Before I only shot with compact cameras so I am still experimenting what can be done with my new "tool" .
Landscapes and architecture fascinates me most, but can be found only rarely in in the mid-east of Germany(unless you like Soviet architecture).
I am also interested in other kinds of art, especially painting.(any Hopper fans out there?)
Sorry if my English is not always perfect, but I'd say learning by doing, so it will hopefully improve.
