CR, from time to time I look at those you mention(also the Sigma 17-70) and say nah.. Yes, Pentax forever although I have a toe in on the dark side. I have a Canon 40D. Again I was given a Canon lens so I got the 40D, a 2005 model for $150.00 from KEH...only 33,000 clicks. I use it with a Canon EFS 55-250 IS ll.

CR, Paul and others with a 16-45. That lens rocks(pun intended) I love my copy. It was a gift and I will never get rid of it so I'm tied to Pentax forever.

I just posted some photos in the DA Zoom Lens Club relating to this post. Those were taken with a DA 16-45 at 45mm. The 2 pics here were taken with a F35-70 at 70mm. I did no PP. This lens was less than $30. It is my 3rd copy. I think I will keep this one not that anything was wrong with the first two. I have a 28-70 FA, a 28-80 Tak F and a DA 18-55 so sometimes I move stuff out. Too many of the same.
Was trying to see how they compare. What do you think?

Sorry folks. I got the pics mixed up. These are the DA photos.

Here are 2pics with my 16-45. No PP. I took the same shots with a 35-70. In either case they were taken at max focal length. I see no difference, Do you? The 35-70(my third copy) cost less than $30.00. Gotta love Pentax and their legacy lens. Check the F Lens club in a few minutes.

Sorry Guys and Dolls. I got the pics mixed up. What's here are from the F lens. See EXIF.

A few with a 28-200 3.5-5.6 which I acquired for $22.00. I think it is similar to the one in the legacy Sigma reviews. No red ring on this lens. No creep at all. Not bad for the price. Lots of cropping.

After posting, it appears that one of these (the first) is with my Pentax A 50/1.7. Sorry about that.

Awesome shots guys and dolls(if any) with F lens. As jsherman said in his opening post, the F line provide some of the best bang for little money. I would like to get a 24-50, 35-135 and a 70-210.

CR, I feel the same way. I've been looking at the Tammy/Sigma too. Maybe I'll get one if it drops to $120.00, LOL.

A few with a Tokina 75-300 which set me back $10 or so. I don't use it a lot as I shoot with a DA 16-45 about 90% of the time. This rabbit showed up so I whipped the long lens out. Pretty good IMHO.

A few with a FA 28-70/4 and a K20D at the Hope Zoo in Kingston, Jamaica. Was selling this lens but I'll keep it even thought I mostly use my DA 16-45.

A couple with a F80-200/4.7-5.6 on my K20D at the Hope Zoo in Kingston. Jamaica. Not bad for $30 IMHO. Did a bit of PP with Faststone, some cropping and resizing as I shoot at maximum resolution which is 14.6 MP on this camera. Critiques are welcome. Be gentle. LOL.

Thanks CR. Great pics and beautiful orchids. I'll show these to wifey tomorrow. We are in Jamaica and she is helping a niece with her orchids, so she very happy. We had tons when we lived in South Florida, not much now in Georgia. I now have a K5lls..great camera but I wish Pentax had retained the size of the 10/20D. Everybody is talking about downsizing so I got a Canon 40D.lol.

Just reread your post about low ISO. I should have used 200 on my shots. They were all at 800 but look pretty good to me. I did a t of PP with free Faststone. Have not bought any PP program.
