FF v M43....printing BIG! 5Dmk4/Omd 1mk2

If you shoot mid day sun in the tropics like he does you wouldn't notice much of a difference. You could get the same results with a pro Point and shoot..Move it indoors, or Golden/Blue Hours or outside the tropics, and you will really see the difference on print between the formats. 3 out of 4 pics look to have completely blown skies and Highlights...Maybe he's trying to save some ink.

Super Takumar 1.4/50mm 8-Element "killer" vs 7-Element Sample Comparison

I love both lenses. The difference in both lenses is lessened if i were to put hoods on both and LR them individually. Also I could have de-yellowed them both but I don't do that anymore because I enjoy the unique lens patinas now.

If you had first hand experience with it you would know wide open the Cosina Ziess 50mm 1.4 is a fuzzy turd? Stop it down to 2.8 and its very sharp but somewhat swirly and suffers from circular aberrations There are so many better options out there for the price.

Thanks for asking. Yes to all. As with you all I can offer is my opinion. I like the A 1.2/50mm pentax because I prefer the Contrast, Bokeh and Sharpness.

The Pentax-A 1.4 counterpart isn't a great optical performer wide open but it has a lot of character and great colour. However for this kind of money(or less) any of the 1.2/50mm Pentax mf lenses would kill this zeiss.

Longevity for Eneloop batteries

It appears you are correct. I am assuming they built up a good reputation from the original chargers and now they can just make lots of money off of reputation and save a tonne of cash with cheap sub par chargers. I have collected at least a half dozen of the originals from thrift stores comes in handy when I have a multi flash shoot planned.

Eneloop charger, recharges batteries individually..that is why the batteries have such a good reputation.

Energizer,Duracell ect..charge groups of 2 batteries unti they reach the voltage of the sum of two batteries or ~3v so they might finish charging with one at 1v and the other at 2v and then even worse over time until one dies..(the one that charges faster). I charge all my ni-mhs in Eneloop chargers. Don't use an aa/aaa charger unless it says it can charge 1 battery at a time.
...I mostly only buy Duracell batteries because they are good and cheap and they last forever when I charge them in my Eneloop charger.

Hey I feel your pain I have had two out of three Pentax Dslrs and that had focussing screens that were terrible with my 1.2/50m Pentax-A due to, a)Focus screens made for looking through and not actually using to focus and b)Wildly out of calibration for MF.. I used a Canon 5d EEs screen for one and a Maxxum 7000 35mm film camera screen for the other, Both ground down.
Check out The video I made on how to do it..I used a K5 for the video but it is the same process with the K3 even same size screen so you can use the template I made.

I made this little project out of my love of photography and fishing. My daughter loved this project aswell especially seeing the results. I wanted to use my Sony AS50 so I could see the results live on my phone but I forgot to pack it for camping.

He was a Nikon guy before Sony perhaps it is not a coincidence that the Nikon FF Mirror-less is coming out soon and he is no longer considered a Sony Artisan.

How Sony lineup compares to Pentax?

I doubt AF be as good as on K1 but it works quite well with tele/standards and wider. I think it would however be really enjoyable putting a FA 31mm on a Sony A7iiiR and have the option of focusing the lens itself to MFD of 10mm for macro shots with af available(although limited). OP I quoted was talking about FA Limiteds. DA limiteds don't have aperture rings.

I was refering to the FA limiteds which most are within the focal range where when you set the lenses at infinity focus you achieve close or better than minimum to infinity focal distance without adjustments on the Fotidiox Pronto(with the 77mm having mfd 1.4m instead of 0.7m as the exception) . Aperture control is not AF, you do have to change aperture on lens. You are only using the PDAF however so you have less sensor coverage on A7iii but stil more than Dslrs.

The whole compactness argument is null given the sheer size of any FF dslr compared to Sony FF mirrorless cameras. Canon Af on the new Sony cameras is pretty much native speed you can't really say it is just ok. Nikon adapters..yeah I wouldn't put one on my camera.

You can use the Pentax limiteds very effectively on a Sony with full and fast AF using Fotodiox Pronto or Techart Pro Af adapters.

Unless you factor in the A-mount Sony Lenses.
