A man comes home, huffing and puffing, and says to the wife "I just missed the bus, so I ran after it all the way home, and saved myself the $2 bus fare".

Wife responds "you should have run after a taxi, and saved $15".

Firstly, it is wrong to call a brand new camera, with very different makeup from previous models, only an "update" just because it follows a particular naming format. Then, you really need to stop thinking that the only factor determining the value of a camera is the sensor size.

Clackers is in the land of Oz, where cricket is big.

You can look up how long some cricket matches last, but I'll give you a clue: you can take a good book with you, and you will finish reading it before the match is over.

Sorry, I don't know how the quote I used came attached to your post and name. I did not change it myself. I corrected my post to show the correct reference.

I don't know enough to dispute or confirm this statement, so can you tell me why it is so, especially since we do not yet have comprehensive tests or comparisons of the K3-iii?

It appears that much thought has gone into the design and development of this camera, and it is definitely not just another "me too" unit.

Since there is always the inevitable reference to Pentax' shortcomings in video, some people really, really, really need to get out of their heads their obsession with video quality, as if it were a universal necessity. Yes, dSLRs can do video, some better than others, but people who have been photographing for decades have not been doing it for their love of video. In the context of one's photography, video has zero significance. How many contests or even simple entries of video clips do you see on this site? If video quality is a high requirement for me, I'll get a camcorder. Otherwise, for most photographers, and I am fully aware that there are exceptions, I view video as being just a nice side benefit, for which ultimate quality is probably of no real benefit. I cannot imagine a professional videographer relying on a Pentax SLR for his/her work.

I'd say ice hockey has football/soccer beat, easily. Similar concept, but much faster, and often "non-stop" end-to-end action.

Aussie Rules is a rough and tough game.

I think they have a university course somewhere for those who want to understand it:)

Err, no, it is not. You are confusing plural 's' with the use of a possessive 's' e.g. Tom's, Jane's, James'.

And this is a big part of the problem. All this misuse is propagated, also to people trying to learn and use English on the web, so they are learning incorrect use of the language and/or spelling, through no fault of their own.

Warning: rant ahead.

Although I am quite fussy about such things at times, "lense" is not one that annoys me, especially since we have many native non-English speakers here. This is nothing compared to, e.g., apostrophes all over the place where they don't belong (third person verbs, plurals (Dutch speakers are excused)), "high rate of speed" (this is somewhat like saying "large amount of quantity"), "based on" suddenly becoming "based off"/"based off of" (I want to puke!), "loose" instead of "lose", transposing the meanings of e.g. and i.e., etc, etc, etc.

I don't know why, but sometimes it seems that all it takes is for one TV personality to say something, and after that it's just a matter of time before the rest of the population follows. Why is there such a propensity for grasping incorrect usage of words, given that this usage does not represent any advantage over the correct usage?
