I am surprised being the music fan I am that this is the first place I read this. Juluka was a ground breaking significant music group.

Saw him perform once with Savuka, sorry to hear of his passing.

Was at the Calgary Stampede yesterday watching the Pow Wow dance competitions on the new stage at the Elbow River Camp.

When the Fancy dancers came on, it was "spray and pray" for me on Auto with my K-r and 18-135 just trying to zoom and frame as I had no idea where they would be next.

Got some images I am pleased with. Here are a few Jpegs straight out of the camera.

I like the look of that handle bar attachment you have for the camera. Can I ask the make/model of the bracket?

The men with horses are a Royal Northwest Mounted Police patrol, before they became part of the RCMP in 1920. i have two more photos from that day, unfortunately the one that is arguably the best focus and pose has the heads cut off on the print.

Kodachrome - from one of about 20 individually boxed Carousels that were loaded up for holiday photo slide shows and have been stored in cool dry prairie basements untouched until I started going throught them a couple of years ago.

Vuescan with Epson 4870 using Kodachrome presets and a touch of dust filtering. i don't remember doing any
fading correction but I may have. Other good ones of Calgary, driving through Yellowstone in Winter, Reno, Cliff House, San Francisco that I will post a few of over time.

My grandfather, the man who shot the colour slides of downtown Edmonton in 1962, was interested in photography from at least 1900, with his images documenting life on the Saskatchewan homestead during WW1.

What Edmonton, Alberta looked like in the summer of 1962. Scans of slides my grandfather shot along Jasper Avenue, the main downtown business thoroughfare.

Yes, just a few. In this Earth Cam view one of the apartment buildings in the distance across the river valley, seen above the Rogers Place (new Oilers hockey area), was the location I took the photo. There is a webcam on one of the buildings with a similar view, can't seem to find the link at the moment.

I understand that parts might not be required.

As there do not appear to be any service manuals or take apart guides for that grip the exploded parts diagram might be the only resource available to provide any hints on how to proceed.

uscamera.com have a link to an exploded parts list on their site, 5.99 to download.

Here is a take apart for an earlier grip. Not your model, but may give you an idea. I would be surprised if there is a great difference between the internals of the earlier digital camera battery grips.

Old (very old) Kodak "autographic" camera -- how do I open this thing?

I came to this thread late as I think this is the first time I've wandered into this part of the forums, but I have a few comments which may be helpful or at least interesting.

There are a quite a few different variations of the Kodak folders that can use Autographic film. You are fortunate to have a take up spool and the stylus. Your camera was made for 116 format film, with the A-116 identifier, and was probably made sometime after 1919 based on the patent numbers. If you want to shoot with it you will have to go through some gymnastics with adapters to use current 120 film.

The particular lens on your camera will help to confirm the exact model. The Kodak Customer Support pamphlet AA-13 might also be a start to help identify your camera, and the Brownie Camera page has some info. The Butkus camera manual site has scans of many of the manuals. Depending on the size of the camera, I think you may have a Pocket Kodak.

http://www.brownie-camera.com/manuals/aa13.pdf

There has been mention earlier in the thread of light leaks, and it is important to check the bellows. In bright light covering the Autographic door with tape or shielding with your hand will help.

I have a 1A Autographic Junior that belonged to my grandfather, and some of the negatives shot on 116. Here's two of my favourite B&W negative scans circa 1916, one circa 1920 and a colour image from 1972 I captured when using the camera for a photography class. The black and white images are all unretouched and were some of my earliest scans before I had a properly sized holder.

Yes, that's the one. Have a look at the D-BG2 battery grip manual.

The F is a tiny bit of plastic with a button, not much bigger than the button battery that powers it. I'm surprised I haven't lost mine yet.

I know it was only rebuilt in '84 but I hope the bridge holds out, that is some impressive flow. Although I have never set foot there, Pakenham and Lanark County is the home ground for a lot of my Thompson family ancestry.

Edmonton river valley shot from our apartment in September of 1982. A little straightening and touching up a couple of dust spots. Some vignetting in the corners, did not have a hood for this lens at that time.

Black Photos on Manual after Factory Reset

I don't see any specific mention of what lens is being used, and I know others have asked without getting a reply, and with the OP always mentioning Manual...

Wouldn't a factory reset return the "allow use of aperture ring" setting from 2 to 1?
