I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and the entries. It is very difficult to pick a winner, can I pick them all?
This judging is a bit late, wouldn't you know due to Texas weather it decided to rain for three days straight and evidently it made us lose internet service. LOL was unaware that water got as high as the towers. ( lol, it didn't but we still lost service for 2 days)

SpecialK, I liked the use of the fish eye lens and so did hubby. I found the assortment of gardening implements interesting and the fact that the person is cutting the edge of the grass with the hand shears. The image made me look up the Cloisters and learn about a museum I didn't know about.

atupdate, Living in Texas I see all sorts of farming equipment everyday. Even in town there are horses, cows, and chickens within two blocks of my house. I had an elderly homehealth care client who told me her childhood stories of how they plowed their gardens with horses and mules.

Vaskebjorn, I like that the photo was taken from behind the person, a reminder that we often don't know who takes away all the refuse we throw away. All of us would definitely notice if they did not as we would be living in stack of our own trash. Then we would all be begging them to please take the trash and thank them personally.

aaacb, Oh my, Coffee shop internet, I like that it is in black and white and noisy. The photo being in black and white makes me notice all the people. I have yet to be in a coffee house with that many people.

mingdie, Coffee is an absolute necessity, I want that machine!

eva, Mounted police, the horses are so shiny and the one officer is giving eye contact. Our mounted police wear cowboy boots and western hats and the horses look like they rode out of a rodeo with western saddles and bridles. The officers could probably rope and tie ya too. lol.

jacamar, A great shot, I like the composition and the man looks very confident in his job. I did volunteer work once and the most fun job I ever did was tie beams that the crane took to the construction workers to make the frame work for an assembly hall/ relief supply center.

charliezap, Downed trees and power lines, The florescent yellows and reds stand out in the mist and the green of the foliage of the downed tree. The size of the tree and the power cables in the foreground and the lines in the back show the immensity of the job at hand.

Bruce Clark, Everyone can imagine the many fragrant scents from the variety of spices. I have hyperosmia which means I could smell those spices on the outside even before I walked into a store like that. I like that all the spices are shades of red, orange, yellow, and amber.

jchorst, Your image amused me the most. The expression of determination on the person attempting to open that bottle. The colors are pleasing with the shades of greens and blues reflected also in rows of glasses. I like the one red flower in the middle of it all.

noelcmn, Definitely the strongest image entered. The artist painting red writing over a portrait. I notice he has not written over her eyes, nose, or mouth as he wants the portrait to stand out through the writing. I like the colors of this image.

Hattifnatt, There is a lot going on in your image. What are the three ladies looking at towards the wall? Is the road worker looking at the group of them or just resting a second? One worker is working hard on whatever is in that hole in the street, there is a jackhammer in the foreground. Two young guys walking by don't even notice them, lol, one is carrying a can of paint? I would have to drive to Austin to see that many people on the street at one time.

This was much fun, and picking winners was very difficult.
1st place goes to noelcmn, I could not forget this image after I seen it, the image of the artist and his work was strong and not easily forgotten.
2nd place goes to jchorst , The image I started calling "Bottle Opener", This captured moment is very entertaining and made me laugh. I really like the colors in the photo too.
3rd place goes to Charliezap, What I notice in your image is that the workers are probably out working before the storm is totally over. It is still misty and dim. It is reminds me of during Hurricane Harvey, so many electric trucks, hundreds of them, going to repair all the damage everywhere.
Honorable mention to jacamar, eva, and aaacb

I remember more about the area through what I have photographed, the place, the weather, the trail, how tall the grass was, the height of a low hanging birds nest, where the chrysalis was, and who I was with. Hours later when I finally leave the trail I see everyone that hurried past on their 'sight seeing' excursion. They walked past so fast looking quickly at trees that they missed the line of cutter ants carrying leaf pieces underground. They missed the low hanging nest, the landscape of ferns on the log, the tussock moth caterpillar, the deer that snuck past, the chrysalis and the leaf hanging by one spider web thread.
They were together as a family true.... but only managed to take a quick walk and missed everything. However my grandson and I took both K3's and had the full experience of finding and photographing everything we could and had a blast because he was learning and we were interacting because of the cameras.

The photos are so interesting, as for the gardening I never heard of that museum until I looked it up, it made me learn something new.
The plowing, my husband’s grandmother had a little backyard vegetable garden in La Grange, Texas for years and up until the early 80’s the same man would bring a mule and plow the garden for her every spring.
Don’t we all appreciate a street free of trash?
The internet coffee place, I live in a small town and rural area, this is something I don’t get to see even in a local Starbucks. Lol.
Coffee is always necessary!
We have mounted law enforcement officers here except they wear cowboy hats with the tan uniforms and cowboy boots.
I find construction work fascinating although others find my homemade food just as fascinating, lol!
The downed electric reminds me what went on after hurricane Harvey in this area.

The challenge this week is to post photos of work. There have been several threads on What type of jobs we do. I believe I was the only one who posted domestic engineer. So I would like to see photos of any type of work, whether its household, business, construction, photography, just people engaging in work or even animals working. What work has caught our attention? I am posting a few examples that caught my attention because it was really very sad that our old oak had to be cut as the top had died out. The guys were nice and let me photograph while they worked and they got a few pics at the end. The challenge will close at Midnight on Sunday the 30th of December 2018 (Texas) CST. Winners to be declared the following day.

The fine print:

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to select and be the judge for the next week's challenge.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used as well as P/S cameras.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Oh my, I didn’t realize I had been selected. I thought the white flower image won. All the photographs were good, who can resist the gaze of a puppy looking up at them? Or marvel at sea life under rippling water or wonder where loads of wrapped blanked vehicles are going? This forum is a fantastic place to see subjects and events through the eyes of others, images captured in an instant through the camera.
I have a theme in mind and will post it this eve when I get to my reg PC.

I wanted the 300 mm but didn't have time to go get it. It was very cloudy and dim all day so I set up on the porch to grab some bird shots, then I seen the Skipper. It's a wonder any of it is in focus at all as my giant 17 lb cat was impeding my concentration by bumping the tripod and pawing my leg with his giant claws. Lol, looking at it I was thinking "What's with the wacky ISO on that one shot?" Oh.... cat distraction...
