God I wish I hadn't sold my 645z kit (had to at the time for financial reasons). I maybe inheriting a nice chunk of change (I will be getting something though not sure how much, but first have to go through all the legal crap for my folk's estate). Once all is settled and I at least have a number, I will look into another 645z, though probably used.

Looking at a 645N with a 220 back. Not finding 220 film for sale anywhere. Can a 120 roll be used in a 220 back? BTW, totally new to medium format film. haven't found any 220 film or remember seeing a 120 babk for it.

I shot at my daughter's marching band comp Sat. night and was about midway up in the stands with a K-3ii & 18-135mm. Used auto WB (I can change in photoshop if desired) and was shooting 1/125-1/250, F/4-5/6, ISO 800. Most turned out fine (a few out of focus but exposed fine).

Pentax Mirrorless?

Question, I admit I'm not familiar with and need to do research but isn't the Q series a mirrorless system? Yeah, not as good or notable as the K-01 but it's still mirrorless and current.

Robert's Camera in Indy has some K-3's (original, not K-3ii). I just picked up a K-3ii a few weeks ago and they had a few ii's at the time. Their inventory is constantly changing.

I may have posted this earlier, if so sorry. Can't find that post. I just traded an Oly M4/3 M5mkii for a K-3mkii. Yeah, some trade offs but the better lower light capabilities and higher resolution sold me on it.The Oly did awesome in the day and has a razor sharp DOF, but alot of my stuff (outside of family photos) is at night, be astro or night shots in general.) The Oly didn't do great at night. Was a PITA the focus manually even with their pro series of lenses. When focused they did well, but not any better than the Tamron, Sigma, Pentax mix I already have.I need something I know will focus well and has the dynamic range. Sure, I have K-1 for that but als usually have a second camera going doing something.

I had similar experiences with my Oly M5mkii. less than useful battery life even with new batteries & a grip (I think it actually got more life with one battery than two.) I did like the compactness which made for a good walk around/toss in the back seat of the car system. Not very useful at night. It was replaced with a virtually new K-3ii.

I've had a lot of positive feedback from this as a color image, but what about B*W? It's a lightning strike on Lake Superior (3 separate storms rolling through). The light in the middle of the shot is a harbor marker, about 500 feet away from the shore. It was taken about 2-3 miles away.

I saw something similar to this in the toy section of Target. It was a digital recorder that looked like a tape deck that uses fake tapes.

after sitting inside for about 10 minutes. the lens let go and I could take it ff as normal. Mounted it about 20 times with no issues. Guess it was the humidity.

unknown. Once the combo set accumulated to the AC & lower humidity indoors, I was not able to replicate the locking up. Therefore I can only conclude it was environmental.

unknown. Once the camera set in the AC environment is was used to, the lens unlocked as normal several times.

First, if there is a better forum to move this please do mods...

Question for those who use a K-1 and a Tammy 70-200. Has anyone had this lens lock on your K-1 (or any other body)? I went to do some night shots of a lit up funky illuminated bridge and had the 70-200 on and realized I needed something shorter, but the lens locked and wouldn't come off. I used my backup camera and then called it a night. After I got home, I was able to get it off and then it stuck again. I've tried mounting it and taking it off probably 20 times with no issue. I can only assume temp & humidity as to why it wouldn't come off (it's not a weather sealed lens). This is the older F/2.8 DI LD (IF) Macro version. Bought used a few years ago.. Anyone ran into this before?

my wife doesn't care about the brand but she's very intimidated by it and won't user it (K-1). She sticks with her phone or my secondary camera, an Olympus mirror less.

they are the online used presence of Robert's Camera in Indy. I've bought lots of stuff from both online and in person. I highly recommend them. As mentioned above, you see photos of the actual item and not a stock photo. Last time I was there they had a pretty large collection of Pentax gear.

Mirror lock up not working on 645z

So I was out tonight with my 645z and noticed the mirror lock up wouldn't work. It would, but sporadically. Sometimes the mirror would lock up but mort of the time the camera would ignore the setting. Those not familiar with the 645z, there is a knob on the side of the camera to turn MUP on and off rather than a menu option like the K-1/ Anyone run into this before? Does it regardless of lens, fresh battery, camera settings (was mostly shooting in full manual doing astrophotography.)
