Weekly Challenge Weekly Challenge #441 - Holidays

I didn't think that the holidays were going to be cheerful this year. We were in Florida in May this year and my wife was rushed to the hospital with a mitral heart valve infection.Very serious. She needed immediate open heart surgery to replace the valve at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte Fl. She was out of it for many weeks and when she was stable enough I hired a medvac jet to fly her home to Boston's Ma. General Hospital so she would have the best treatment available. After several months in the hospital and later at rehab she came home in August. She gets around great with a cane and walker but she will soon not be dependent on them to ambulate. Better days are coming. I don't need much from Santa this year. I already have my gift.Happy holidays to all.:)--charliezap

The first shot is my entry to the "Aligned" challenge. The others ( with the link) tell the story.Rock Harbor in Orleans- Cape Cod Ma. is very unique. Every year the trees are replaced to guide the boats into the inner basin. When it is low tide you can walk a mile out to the water's edge. The trees serve as a navigation tool to help those that are not familiar with the area. It is a tourist attraction and at high tide the water is 10 ft. deep where the "alignment" trees are. Sunsets there are gorgeous.--charliezap

We all have something to be thankful for.
I chose this theme and here is the reasoning behind it. We were on vacation in Florida and on May 8th my wife had to be rushed to the hospital with endocorditas and had to have a heart mitral valve replacement. 2 weeks after the operation I had her med-flighted back to MGH in Boston. After a stay in the hospital and then rehab she is finally home and getting stronger and better.I'm thankful that she is home and recovering. We all have something that we are thankful for. That being said show me what you are thankful for and give a sentence or 2 to explain your entry.

The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge

The challenge will close next week on October 2nd at midnight.--charliezap
