If you have a film camera you can use up some film when you feel like it and can afford it.. If you don't have a film camera you can't. And you'll feel bad.

newarts, did you change the height at which the camera was held between those two lens. I can clearly see more of the light pole above the window frame in the 55mm then in the 18mm.
It would also seem that I can see more of the top of the window frame in the 18mm then the 55mm but that could be because of the blurring in the 55 due to a difference in the DOF between the two.

Unfortunately I have to wait until tomorrow to try this myself.

No more long neck straps for me :-(

No matter what strap that is involved there is always some potential situation that could damage a camera. To minimize the likelyhood of such a situation occuring I try to always secure strap and camera at the same time and immediately hang it around my neck or wrist. One time I forgot to secure the quick access panel on my Lowe Fast Pack and dropped my Rebel xti on to a stone floor from about 2 feet. Fortunately the camera suffered no damage. Since then I've become OCD about zipping up camera bags.

Pictures of squirrels are not allowed where I work. Naked women are fine but flowers are questionable. Not sure about the policy on ground squirrels though.

They are not really bad either. Number 1 is a good portrait and number 3 is beautiful. Pleasing bokeh with enough suggestion of a landscape to complement her thoughtful expression.

The reflection of the man with ice cream is a value added bonus in that wonderful first shot. Helps to do what a good photo can do: tell a story.
