From early this morning at the Imperial Sand Dunes in southeastern California. this spot is 30 minutes from my home, and I can finally get shots because it's too hot for the off-roaders, so no tracks. Sprinkles yesterday made for interesting patterns on right foreground.

HD D-FA* 70-200 @70mm, f/11, and PS. B&W conversion in NIK Silver Effex after normal processing in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Thanks. I drove the tripod legs as far into the sand as possible and it was pretty secure. I also used pixel shift for this exposure, so it had to be very steady.

Thank you Flanoman.

Very nicely done Matt. Winners for sure. Excellent composition, framing, and exposure. Hard to pick a favorite between the two.

From a recent visit to the historic copper mining ghost town of Swansea in western Arizona. Taken handheld with the new 50 1.4, and processed/corrected in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Luminar 3. f/16 @ 100 ISO. Shot this scene at all apertures from 1.4 and liked f/16 for this particular scene. Surprisingly little diffraction at f/16 on this lens. Love it.

Taken at an abandoned copper mine from the early 1900's with the new 50 f/1.4. Very sharp at 100%. even though I chose to shoot at f/16 to retain as much depth of field as possible.

That time of year for cactus blossoms and snakes. Saw three Western Diamondbacks in 45 minutes. Two of them allowed me to photograph them, but the third was shy and slithered away into the brush before I could change lenses.

Just a couple recent shots with the new 50 1.4. First shot is prickly poppy at f/16 to show as much detail as possible. Second shot is blooming creosote, ocotillo, and brittle bush on the far hillside.

That Mustang, or what ever it's called over there, must be very expensive to import. Is it right hand drive as well?

Here are four more from my current favorite location (Smoke Tree Point).
All taken between 6:02 and 6:46 last evening as a storm was clearing.
All at 450mm, f/8, on a tripod, and utilizing PS. One of them is cropped to 16:9.
Oh, and captured with the K1.
