jsherman: hey J, those pics were taken with this exact lens i'm trying to sell, right? ; )

ishino: shipping to, for example, California from Toronto will cost $25. I think price will vary depending on state, but generally at least $20. I prefer to keep it in Canada and not pay more for shipping, sorry.

New price $590. I think this is reasonable (in canada at least) considering the competitive prices of Aden or Prodigital, etc. You are getting a mint lens! There is nothing wrong with it at all. It has been in great hands, never abused, dropped or scratched. You'll save at least $60 off of a brand new one, plus you'll save taxes, and shipping (shipping in canada is on me).

I am selling my 12-24. If anybody is interested, i posted it in the marketplace... Here is my shot with this lens and the k100. my copy is sharp and near perfect, the flare was a prob though, but i read that all wide zooms have flare probs. its inherent in the lens designs of all wides.

I've had a few inquire about this lens, but its still for sale. Some common questions answered:
1) there are no focussing (ff/bf) issues with this lens, it is spot on sharp.
2) i have kept a UV filter on this since the day i bought it for christmas 2007 - front lens is spotless
3) Pentax 2 year warranty - comes with warranty card.

Here are some photos of the flash. The new price is $350. You can see the very slight scuff mark at the top of the flash. Its really that insignificant. I'm throwing in the sto-fen diffuser.

Here is a photo taken with the Tamron. As you can see the focussing is perfectly on the '0.7 Pencil'. It was taken at f/2.8. No sharpening needed in photoshop. More photos of the actual lens to come...

This is a relatively new flash, nine-months old. has a little scratch at the top, but it's only cosmetic. Flash, buttons and screen work perfect. Comes with case, box (although somewhat ripped), documents, stand and sto-fen omni bounce diffuser. $400. Open to offers.

I am looking to sell the following within Canada.

1) K100D Body - $250 - <<<<>>>
- One year old (to the month), 15k cycles, cosmetically flawless, some dust on sensor and on viewfinder, but wont permanently affect image quality. I have never tried to clean the sensor or viewfinder - sounds bad, i know, but i didn't want to risk any damange. I've taken very good care of this camera. box included. there is still one year left on the warrenty card - included of course.

2) Tamron 28-75 2.8 - $400 <<<<>>>>
- Six months old, bought it for xmas. Usual wear on the mount, other than that flawless. I sent it in to Tamron because it had a FF/BF issue, it is now spot on. Lens is clean. I kept a UV filter on it and it'll come with the sale. Incl. Hood. box included.

3) Pentax 12-24 4.0 - $700
- Six months old, bought it for xmas. Usual wear on the mount, other than that flawless. I kept a UV filter on this the whole time as well, but i cannot include it in the transaction. Incl. Hood. Box in cluded.

4) Pentax FGZ-540 Flash - $420
- Nine Months old. Has cosmetic scratches on the top. Functions as normal and no other scratches anywhere else on the body. I'll include the Sto-Fen Omni-bounce, case and stand. I have the box for this but it is ripped.

5) Hoya HMC 67mm Circular Polarizer - $60
- Bought it the same time as the Tamron. Rarely used so i'm going to sell it. Flawless condition. It'll come in its case, the case is cracked, but it won't break and definitely won't hinder the performace of the filter.

Other Information:
Shipping to anywhere in Canada, just email/pm me and i'll send you a quote of shipping costs. I've thought of the prices and think they are fair and cheaper than if you were to buy them brand new, but i'm open to offers. I'll sell items 2, 3, 4, 5 for $1380

I have completed two other transactions. No problems there.

K20D in the rain.

Has anybody used their K10/20D in the rain? I saw this guy on Youtube, pour pitchers of water all over his Nikon D3 and it still worked. Do you think the K10/20 can do that? It would be a big selling point for me. I have a K100 and when it rains, i have to hold an umbrella in one hand and my camera in the other, i don't mind getting water on it, but it's a little tiring. If i know the K20 can withstand normal rain, i wont' have to hold an umbrella (i don't mind myself getting wet). I guess this question also relates to the weather sealed lenses, DA*'s as well - how do those hold up in the rain?

Tamron 1.4 X TC with Tamron 28-75 , any experience ?

I'm in Japan right now, my 28-75 is my main lens. But i'm also looking for the 1.4 TC. I can't find it anywhere in Osaka. All i can find is the 1.5 Kenko, and it produces very soft images.

Badminton Photography

I've done some badminton tournaments. Here is what i learned. I used a 50mm 1.4 and my k100d. The gym lighting is typically not bright enough. You would have to use iso1600 and a shutter speed of at least 500 to freeze the birdy. some good positions are middle court beside the net for good net shots and you would really capture the players eyes following the bird. Another good position is any of the corners, shooting from a low position and getting a jump smash with a wide angle lens.

note: it really depends on how bright the gym is. the gym i shot at was slightly dark (some bulbs burned out), and i was shooting at 1.4 iso1600, and i couldn't shoot faster than 320... the result was borderline sharp... the bird is too fast and the racquets were blurry. 50mm is not long enough in my opinion.

good luck.
