Thanks all, interestingly in the lens review database there is not much love for the fa43 on the k1

Do they have bad copies or...?

Best 'normal' pentax K-1 lens?

hi

i was thinking of getting the k-1 after a long time away from photography

what's the best 'normal' lens that fits the following criteria:

- at least f2
- between 43 and 55mm
- used for portrait mainly

I have read the FA 43mm doesn't do well with the K-1, how about the FA 50 1.4?

Any other alternatives I haven't considered?

Hi

Could anybody share their experiences with using the M20 and K1?

Sharpness / flare resistance / starburst / plays well with filters?

that's nothing to do with the canon system but rather the desired effect / technique (using a wide angle and close up)

Pentax K-S2 Bracketing with Timer?
Posted By chickenandavocado

Hi

1) Can anyone confirm if the K-S2 can do exposure bracketing on timer?

2) If so, does the mirror stay up the whole time or does it come up and down?

3) Can I take photos and change via wifi on my phone the EV exposures (at the same time with timer / mirror lock up)?

Thanks

im looking at purchasing a new k-3 ii (grey import) for a great price (USD$1.4k with da 16-85 lens) but don't want to get a dud.

is it possible to check the serial number on the box itself? or is it only located on the camera?

A compact and minimal high IQ kit consisting of no more than 3 lenses for travel and family shooting for me has been

Da15, fa31 and fa77

I've owned all the DA ltd primes except the 35 macro and decided to keep only the DA15 as there is no substitute. Kept the fa for speed and FF future possibilities

Now FF is coming i will probably add either a M20 or a Voigt 20mm in place of the da15, and get a FA43 which will be my normal lens which is close enough to 31mm fov for apsc.

Planning to make it a 4 lens kit since the fa31 is so nice and unique on FF

Exposure Bracketing on "M" lenses

Hi

So in contemplation for FF, and keeping with a small kit theme, I have decided my 3-4 lens travel kit will be

- M20 F/4
- FA 43 or FA50 1.4 (still deciding)
- FA77
(all above take 49mm thread)
- FA31

I have not yet purchased the M20 F/4 as I have one question lingering about exposure bracketing on M lenses (as I plan to sell off my DA15 potentially if the issue is resolved since I take a lot of exposure bracketing shots with it)

How does exposure bracketing work for these M lenses?

I understand I need to push the green button to get initial exposure, but can I still just hold down and have the camera take 3 exposure or do I need to manually change the shutter speed myself and reshoot for the equivalent of +2/-2 EV?

Thanks for the responses, I may first try the m20 as it seems to tick the right boxes.. and then see how it compares to da15 in crop mode if I want to sell it!

Smallish equivalent of DA15

With the new FF, I now want something in the equivalent 22mm range to replace my DA15 to take advantage of FF, with the hope of having.

Any FF lens suggestions that are small and compact? At the moment I'm looking at the Fa20 but would like to know of any more compact alternatives.

Autofocus is not a priority for me, but rather compactness and sharpness stopped down

FA24mm and Step Down Ring

Hi

Anyone with experience using a step down ring 67 - 49 mm with the FA24mm?

Any vignetting on APS-C?

My guess is most likely yes but would like to see if anyone has actually tried (before I get the lens)

Thanks

anyone compared either of these lenses to the sigma 10mm fisheye?

what's THE best fisheye for 8mm-10mm out there currently in terms of build quality, sharpness etc?

not concerned on weight because of the lens being a specialty lens
