Here's a crop version. I wanted the sky clearing to anchor one corner and include the sign and foreground path along with the building in the center.

Fantastic bug shots Noel!
I have another winter scene, the sunrise this morning taken from my driveway. You may notice the picture is a little soft. That is because the focus was at about 10 yards - I was in such a hurry that I left the camera on manual focus that I was using for a track meet a few days earlier. I should learn to slow down.

Great images - this is really tough. Usually my choice ends up being one of the top three, but so many of these could win. I'm down to the wall test - which would I want hanging on my wall. Right now, I'm leaning toward one of the photos that only shows the mirror image.

I did some hiking around Duluth Minnesota, this is part of the St. Louis River section that the fur traders had to portage around to get from Lake Superior to the inland lakes and streams. Shot this handheld with the K3 and DA100 macro, I used a high ISO to get a fast shutter speed. The second pic is a 100% crop.

I noticed on upload that the size of the second pic was reduced from around 1M to about 200k bytes - the 1M looks a bit sharper.

Good suggestion from MossyRocks, that would be my first suggestion. Another idea is to sample the microbreweries and brewpubs in Fort Collins, then hike up Horsetooth Rock outside of Fort Collins (not necessarily in that order). It won't be high altitude scenery but it is a very nice foothills hike/climb.
Rocky Mountain NP is another possibility, you can drive Trailridge road to high altitude atop the continental divide. There are many trails lower in the park. The Long's Peak trail is in the southern end of the park - I don't recommend trying to summit unless you are young and strong and start at around 3 am. There is a nice side trail just above treeline that takes you to Chasm Lake underneath the diamond face of Long's peak. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum!
I just bought the monster and took it along hiking yesterday for it's first "meal". I was very pleased, most of my shots happened to be in the 24 to 30mm range and I was impressed with the sharpness across the whole frame. I'm at work now, maybe I will post pics this evening.

Back in my cycling days, a lot of new racers would complain whenever they saw a recreational rider with a nicer bike than they had. The seasoned veterans, however, were okay with it. They felt if any cyclist enjoyed their new bike, and it got them riding more, then more power to them.

You should take a look at the Irix 15mm, which I got to replace my Rokinon 14. In my case the image quality is much improved, sharper and less distortion. There are two versions of the Irix 15, I got the lighter Firefly and seems to be reasonably sturdy. There is a heavier, and more expensive, all-metal version.

Here are some colors from todays harvest of cherry tomatoes. Cropped the photo to close to 100%. (I took this shot to test my FA35 that I just got - arrived just a few hours ago.)
