Anywhere between US$30 and US$80 depending on the condition, with the high end being in mint condition.

It was released last month in Camera Raw, and this month in Lightroom. I've played with it a little bit. It seems to work as advertised. I haven't noticed any weird artifacting on the images I used it on. It is cool that my old istD files can be enlarged to a usable 24mp. I haven't found much use for it yet with the K1 files (144mp), though I suspect it will be really useful for the bug and bird brigade.

That's because they didn't have AI 20 years ago. This is not using nearest neighbor interpolation with a new name.

The little group I used to shoot with would go to an area and for the most part split up with an agreement to meet back at a designated location at a fairly specific time. That seemed to work well, and it was nice travelling with like minded people and having lunch with them.
Too large a group is unwieldy though. I wouldn't want to be in a group larger than half a dozen. Too much chance of getting in each other's way.

I am a bit confused about filters in hybrid camera setups

Circular polarizer are needed to avoid cross polarization in AF and exposure systems that get their information via a partially silvered reflex mirror.
Using a linear polarizer with those systems can blind the AF, making it non functional, and play havoc with exposure.
The only Pentax whose exposure can be thrown out of whack by a linear polarizer is the LX. All other Pentax bodies take exposure readings off the focusing screen.
If you are using manual focus lenses, or are not using AF, a linear polarizer is fine. Most of the time with Pentax, a linear polarizer is fine anyway.
However, they are far less common and far more expensive these days than circular polarizers, so unless you have a bunch lying around from 4 decades ago that are good quality and haven't delaminated, circulars are the way to go.

---------- Post added Jun 20th, 2021 at 11:49 AM ----------

Light going through the partially silvered mirror gets a dose of polarization. Consequently, the light hitting the AF sensor is polarized. Putting a linear polarizer filter on can cross polarize this light. If the offset is great enough, no light reaches the AF sensor, and the AF stops working as it is blind.

Try taking a pair of linear polarizers and rotate them against each other. You will see what is happening to the AF sensor in your camera.

That's how the Pentax Users Gallery works, sort if. It isn't a competition, but it is a monthly themed gallery.
As an aside, it's also the oldest photo gallery on the internet.

We have, or had anyway, a couple of camera clubs here. I never really got into either one. One of them was very competitive, and I found there was substantial brand snootiness, which was also part of the competition, it seemed. The other tried very much to be about photography, but I ended up giving more free seminars than being a regular member.
Concurrently to that, there was a group of about half a dozen of us that regularly went shooting, the group size varied greatly, but it was always about the photography, food and beer. That was my kind of group. Unfortunately, death and people moving away took it's toll, and the group sort of petered out through attrition.

Now I am a simple internet troll on Pentax Forums.

I've long thought that if one's storage costs are too high, one should be more discerning regarding when and how often one pushes the button.

Well I'm out of ideas. I really don't know much about what goes on inside these things. I'm happy to believe there is a little magician inside them making everything work. Perhaps there is, and the one in your camera has passed on to that great electronic darkroom in the sky.

It's one of the better lenses for the 6x7 system. It is also a very nice field of view, being neither wide angle nor telephoto. It is a very slightly long standard lens.

The manual focus is fine, albeit somewhat noodley feeling. If you can find an A35/2 it's an absolute gem. Mine is a better lens than my FA35/2 both optically and mechanically.

Pretty good does not mean perfect. Sorry if I confused you with a non absolute statement. I know reading is hard sometimes.

As an aside, my 13 year old Epson 4800 printer (Win XP era) still runs perfectly under Win10.

I still have some programs from the Win98 era that still run on Win10. Windows has a pretty good track record for not breaking old software. This is one of the major ways they differ from Apple which seems to break older software every time they come up with a cutesy new name for their BOS.

Warranty Service in Canada During Covid

Talking about making stuff up, your reply is a classic example.

I work front line and have to deal with this sort of thing on a daily basis. If you aren't getting a response from the company it's because they haven't caught up to your job yet.
It's as simple as that.
It's long past time for people to get over themselves and their sense of self entitlement.
I'm sure you will get your camera back at some point. In the meantime, be happy you have your health. A lot of people have lost a lot more than being minorly inconvenienced by the fact they have a broken luxury object in the shop.

Warranty Service in Canada During Covid

Everything has been slowed down by covid except customer expectations. When a company is only running at low partial capacity, expect very extended wait times. Lifting a stay at home order does not mean that all of a sudden a repair company is running at 500% capacity clearing out a year's backlog of repair orders. It's entirely possible that Sun doesn't have any repair technicians at the moment, and only a skeleton staff running the front office.
It's too bad that you are dealing with a broken camera, but to be blunt, your expectations are simply unreasonable given the reality of the situation.

Debating Software choices

You can dig around and find a bunch of free or nearly free software that does some stuff well, but not other stuff, which means constantly saving files in one program, then opening them in another one because the software you are using are one trick ponies, which means learning several different programs with different interfaces.
If this is fine with you, then knock yourself out downloading a dozen free programs and enjoy learning how each of them works.
Or, you can seek out one software suite that is competent at taking computer files and making them into pictures.

I happen to like Photoshop. It does pretty much everything competently, and one only needs to learn how to use one program. It's also not terribly expensive. I think I'm paying under Can$15.00/month for the combined Photoshop/Lightroom suite.

I want my hobby to be enjoyable, and part of that is not having to fart around with half a dozen different programs.
