I get up at 7:30 and work four hours a day. Nine to twelve in the morning, five to six in the evening. Businessmen would achieve better results if they studied human metabolism. No one works well eight hours a day. No one ought to work more than four hours.

As far as I have been able to tell that part isn’t available. I am surprised some close knock offs haven’t been created.

The instructions say you need a certain amount of free space. I wasn’t sure if the space was needed to extract information to the card during the process.

yaaay, successful update to ist DS firmware 2.02, now I can use my 4Gb SDHC card - PentaxForums.com

This thread seems to confirm you’ve done most of this correctly. The only thing I haven’t confirmed is if your sd card might be accidentally write protected. It would have to have happened after you put the file on it.

I’ve never had a problem with a card with images on it. Not ever. As long as the file was in the root. But clearly the camera is setting finding the file as it identifies the version on screen… this one is strange.

I guess if you are using catch in focus that could make sense. Otherwise why would the autofocus system matter on manual focus lenses?

I have tried linear polarizers on my Pentax bodies (k100d super, k-50, k-3, kp) with autofocus lenses and they seemed to work but I wasn’t sure if that was a fully repeatable event. I would love to hear from Pentax if there’s a technical reason for it.

King: Did you kill seven [giants] with one blow?
Mickey: Uh, yes, your honor, and how!
King: ...well, how?
Mickey: I was all alone, I heard them coming, I looked up, and I was surrounded!
King: Yes?
Mickey: They were here, there, everywhere! A whole bunch of them! They came at me from the right, the left, right, left, left, right!
King: Yes, yes, go on!
Mickey: They were coming closer! The fight was on! I swung and missed! I missed and swung! I swung again and again and again! They were right on top of me!
King: And then?
Mickey: And then, I let 'em have it!

Polarizers:
Linear Polarizer vs Circular Polarizer: What's the difference? - Lindsey Optics

I disagree a little with the statements about generic mirror issues. However autofocus systems in most dslr and autofocus SLR systems can be negatively impacted by linear polarizers.

So with manual lenses you probably won’t see any problem but there’s also no reason not to use a circular polarizer if you have one. UV filters are typically not needed since they coat the sensor glass and the light allowed to reach the sensor isn’t really affected by common UV filters. Digital “protection” filters are available and some people love them others hate any glass added. On non-telephoto lenses the debate is pretty religious. On telephotos there are several published threads showing serious degradation on sharpness but despite my own bias I’d say you would need to test for yourself.

I know people who say to be very careful and read the posts. I have to agree with that sentiment as the lenses descriptions can sometimes be at odds in terms of language. Read carefully - Excellent can to some people include FUNGUS. It is important to really carefully look at photos AND read the full description. Don't get swept up in the moment.

I have to retract this. I did buy a couple of lenses for M43 and Sony FE that were excellent. Both were new or like new and had very little wear. It is the older lenses where people have optimistically overclaimed optical quality that has been an issue. This isn't limited to Pentax either. I bought a Nikon enlarger lens listed as clean, no scratches and it arrived and I could barely see through it. The interesting thing is that in all but one case when I pushed back the sellers all gave in immediately suggesting they KNEW they were misrepresenting their products. Many told me to keep it and refunded my money. I don't mean to say I have bought loads either - this is a sample of perhaps 5 items.

It can be useful to get just the right shot for the difficult subjects. But good technique and patience worked in film and manual focus days for the dedicated. I think features like eye af give wider opportunities - commoditizing what was once rarer. That’s not necessarily good or bad - and like you I don’t want to sift through loads of images most of the time. I prefer to take the images more mindfully.

Cleaning K200D

K200D is quite desirable as one of the last ccd sensor dslr cameras. The iso performance will lag behind the k-5ii but the resolution is more than adequate and the color rendition is very good.

As others said, if the lenses work on the k200d, they should work on the k-5ii. Curious.
