That's great and all but doesn't answer the question.
The only reason I asked is that I had a card that had no issues for quite a while until it did. It was then that I remembered I had used that card in an older Pentax body and never formated it before sticking it into the newer body
(K200d and K-30).
After formatting the card, never had an issue, ever.

Wireless flash on the K-3 III is the same as it is for the K-1/II. You need to have a Pentax flash mounted to the hotshoe and all wireless transmission would be set in the flash itself. The Pentax wireless system works by sending light signals to another Pentax flash (or a Yongnuo 585 which is the only 3rd party flash that understands the Pentax wireless protocol).
Wireless communication in the K-3 III manual if I recall correctly is for GPS and image sync through wifi and Bluetooth where the "Wireless Communication Device" would be a tablet or smartphone (I haven't looked at the manual in quite a while).
Godox is an entire lighting system, from flashes to strobes. The triggers work on the Godox X-wireless protocol and only work with other Godox wireless lighting equipment (Godox X1T, X2T p, X-Pro p, TT350 p, V1 p, V 860 III p). There are other Godox flashes in canon and Nikon protocol that will also work but only when fired wirelessly by an X2T p or X-Pro p after doing a firmware update on those flashes.
TT685 etc.
Flashpoint by Adorama is just rebranded Godox.

I don't think he used spot focus so there is no "place the AF point on foliage". It's a Zone focus array which is multiple AF points that are being used in a more concentrated grid which allows the camera to detect a subject without being distracted by other potential subjects within the field of view. Given the K-3 III's subject recognition, it should have (and did) lock onto the bird and ignore the random foliage.
The K-3 III does not act like the previous generation Pentax cameras which would have focused on the closest "thing" to the camera. Turning the subject recognition off would have the K-3 III behave more in line with previous generation Pentax cameras. That's why subject recognition ONLY works in full auto AF (entire AF array), or Zone (more condensed AF array) and does not work in any other AF mode (spot, or any of the SEL modes).

It also depends on what you determine "on top" means. AF, burst rate and deep buffer aren't the only things that matter to some if not most.
Built in interval shooting with auto compositing the final image, AA filter simulator and 5.5 stops of SR at 85 mm. Plus the ergonomics, the color science and high iso color accuracy of the Pentax can all be deemed as being "on top" even though it may be a hair short in AF.C tracking and a much smaller buffer (but a faster burst rate).

@Gatorguy Very nice preliminary observations!
Some unexpected findings for sure. I'm not sure if you can do this but I'm curious. Can the subject recognition be turned off on the Nikon? It would be interesting to see how both cameras do when using only the AF system with no Subject Recognition assistance.
The other nice thing about the D500 is that for low light/night, the rear buttons light up.
The K-3 III has improved quite alot through the firmware updates. They really changed the camera from when it was released. I personally don't think either camera is better than the other, they're pretty much even given the overall picture (no pun intended).

Well, the 600 F/4 seeing as it's a prime lens wouldn't be an issue. The 150-450 since it's a zoom lens would be a bigger issue. However, my K-30 and K-3 paired with the 55-300 PLM never attracted as much dust as the K-3 III with the same lens. My K-3 III just attracts a lot more dust than my other Pentax cameras for some reason.

Well, from personal experience using cans of "compressed" air over the years, I can say I would never use it to clean the camera sensor. Sometimes the chemical inside the can sprays out and leaves a layer of frozen material on the part you're blasting (it DOES happen). It only takes once for it to happen and who knows what that'll do to the sensor, so I'd rather use a hand squeeze bulb blower. The principal is similar to butane bottles. There is a chemical reaction happening inside the can/bottle to propel the element out of the can/bottle. It's just not worth the risk (to me).

Mine runs warm and in sun does get hot but it's never reached thermal shutdown temps.
Everything inside the camera is very tightly packaged which causes less heat dissipation per component.

The K-3 III does something different. Inside each SD card are 2 folders. One is DCIM which only has photo and video files. The other folder is PENTAX. They are separate folders in the root of the card.

The camera doesn't "learn" anything. The folder is basically a preset database driven from the camera within the firmware itself. It's pretty much "if/and" statement call outs. Why it's stored in the SD cards, I have no idea. The size of those folders will never change unless more is added via another firmware update.

Which is not the K-3 Mark III ---------- Post added 07-12-22 at 05:52 PM ----------
Quoted from the K-3 Mark III Ricoh page.
"Pixel Shift Resolution System
By taking advantage of the SR II mechanism,
this innovative system* captures four images of the same scene by slightly shifting the image sensor for each image to obtain all RGB color data for each pixel,
then synthesizes them into a single, super-high-resolution composite image.
This assists the camera in producing super-high-resolution images with true-to-life colors free of false color or noises — something conventional cameras fail to deliver.
*
When using this system, the user is advised to stabilize the camera firmly on a tripod during shooting."
