K3 New Firmware - > focus issues ?

Hi
I've upgraded my K3 with the new 1.4 firmware few weeks ago.
Took few hundreds of frames in a studio with a model. I'm not sure but I have a feeling that the pictures are a bit out of focus and the frame is a little "noisier" .
I run a lens calibration on the 28-75 and found a little shift to center point .

Any idea from the experienced guys?

Upgrade to FW 1.30 and lens re-calibration

Noticed Back focus in all of my pictures I took that evening. I was using my 28-75/2.8 lens. since it was dark I worked in F 2.8-5.6 . at home I used my calibration chart on a tripod and noticed that the Fine Focus that was set to -5 now moved to +5 to set the FOV right in the middle.
same for all lenses - had to reset and re calibrate.

Hi.
After upgrading the firmware to V1.30 I noticed that my pictures were "a little" out of focus . My 28-75 and 10-20mm both moved to back focus .
I had to re-calibrate all my lenses and basically all of them moved to the (+) reign.
I had my K3 from Dec 2014 and upgraded it few time by now but nothing like that happens before.

Any thoughts?

After 35 years of photography with Pentax equipment there are few rules to keep :)
* RTFM - when having your new camera - Read The F... Manual - actually I download the book before buying the camera to know what to look for.
* Reduce the items to set in the setting memory to the default ones - you don't want to take a quick short with the special setting of yesterday shootings.
* Try to keep the shutter speed to the zoom X2 (50mm @ 1/100; 200mm @ 1/500 etc).
* Be relaxed or creative ( :) ) - your mood is reflected in your pictures !!

Wow ! this is great Thank You. Since I've used it with the K5 I guess I set it to Slave 2.
Any advice how to set the 2 flash combination (internal and external) so the light from the build-in will be very low and will have small effect on the frame ?
again thanks !!

internal set to wireless (in K-3 I didn't see the option to switch internal off in wireless) the AF360 is set to wireless (mid point in the power switch) and slave in the lower switch

Hi
trying to use the AF 360 with my K3 in wireless mode. I followed the steps in the flash manual + camera manual over and over again and I guess I am missing something  I can see the flash fires but the picture has no flash lighting inside - looks like the flash is out of sync with the camera .
the scenario I want yo use is the AF 360 on a tripod sideways from my model/object .
The only time I can see the "beam" in the frame is when I put the AF 360 on leading and the camera internal flash on trailing +/-0 .
any idea ?

Thanks

Many Thanks - that was quick :) Looking on the web !!

---------- Post added 07-03-2015 at 10:21 AM ----------

Thanks to Mark (Facebook) I posted a request on Tamron's FB page and got this reply:
Tamron Australia: Hi Ofer, unfortunately due to lack of popularity we have not had that lens available in a Pentax mount in Australia for quite some time now so I can't point you to any retailers who would be sure to have stock in Sydney during your visit.

I guess Having Pentax makes us specials and hard to find.. :)

AF Fine Adjustment Saves the Day!

Had the same issue with a Sigma 18-250 . The point was that it was not just FF , most of the bright outdoor were blurry and hazy. I thought the lens is covered with dust inside (but it was brad new from the "official import" shop). The lens alone at the shop brought no results. I set a meeting with the service guy which took few shoots with the camera to a lens calibration plate. 5-6 steps with a calibration software on their PC - from Coarse adjustment to fine brought the focus point to "0".
the colors and contrast of the pictures turned into the "expected" quality from that lens.

Hi
I've started working with models with a group of photographers . I am using my 35mm HD lens as a prime lens which gives great sharpness and very nice colors .
the 90mm fixed lens is a little to long and the "trips" lens the Sigma 18-250 is not fast enough (F stop is to high). looking for a good and sharp zoom lens between 20 to 70mm with F2.8 for the K3
I will be very happy happy to read experienced users :)
Thanks

Over exposure with Bower MC7 2x

Hi
I started using the 2X Bower MC7 unit with the Tamron 90mm macro lens (and with the Pentax 35mm HD macro) on my new K3 and noticed that the light metering is way off the right settings (I've used it on my K5 with no problems)
took few "test" picture (2 attached) and verified that with the 2x converter there is an error with the light calculation. the "normal" exposure - in the attached case is Iso 3200 1/60 F4 in the 35mm lens while adding the 2x it goes to Iso 3200 1/10 F4. exif data "hides" the fact that the 2x converter is being used.
any Idea of calibration needed ?

I am reading this thread since I saw a higher noise on the K-3 than I used to see in my K-5. few questions I was wondering about :
How do you get ISO 16,000? my K-3 ISO scale goes 6400, 12800 25600 . is there fine tune for the ISO ? :)
what software do you use to reduce the noise from the DNG files :
Thanks
