Someone stole my images! What is this fair use nonsense?

But what the guy did was basically download the image and then when I deleted it from my server he uploaded it to HIS own. To then post it on a forum. That's theft to me.

What's so special about the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 G?

I decided to get one because everyone kept going on how great this lens was and quite honestly I'm not sure I like it. For Portraits I still prefer my Nikkor 85mm 1.8, not that it isn't sharp or anything but the build quality feels so much like plastic and then the moving part that comes in and out of the lens makes the whole thing seem very fragile to the point where I end up not using it. Maybe I'm also used to the 85mm too much...

What do you think of the 50mm 1.4G? Does it work for you?

I posted my image and then deleted it the next day. By then the guy had grabbed a copy.

I want to be the one who decides who gets to distribute my images. I don't see why I should suddenly loose control over the distribution of my images. That's not fair.

Hello,
Haven't posted for a while. Recently someone posted one of my images on an internet forum without my permission, they still credited me with my name and all but I did not want anyone to see that image so I joined the said forum and posted in the thread asking that it be removed and that I was the copyright holder. The original poster then said that he would not remove it and that it was 'fair use' because he wasn't gaining anything from posting the image and that -I- should be grateful for the free publicity.

I find this outrageous personally. So I contacted a moderator on said forum and told them my concerns and even quoted some copyright law text here is his response:

"Total rubbish, as X already said it's fair use, keep bugging me about it and I will ban you."

What should I do? Why on earth should a guy have a right to copy my image onto his server and then post it to a forum even if he credits me?

Okay, I have been using a Calibrated monitor for the last week, I use Lightroom's B&W conversion button and then do all my PP. Then I printed a few A4 size photographs but surprise, they were slightly greenish! I went to a friend thinking there might be something wrong with the printers and he made some prints for me, again, greenish! What am I doing wrong?

I've only started shooting full frame and to me it's magical. The difference is just huge.

I agree. Say, 10MP on a full frame sensor would already produce a better image than film. With the right software a full frame 10MP image can be enlarged to the point where you can make a poster as big as a skyscraper. No one needs 300MP.

Oh, the reason why my links are broken is because I don't use flickr, I only use it to post images on forums and delete stuff after a month or so.

The swedish thing was a small thing which was sort of like a bonus once the competitive part was over. I am not linking to his photostream at all. His photostream is empty as you have shown us.

Another one with the Champagne bottle we drank at lunch. Now if you're still not convinced I am giving up trying to convince you. I won't post my full name or the name of the photographer because I am concerned about my privacy.

I just did some googling. 'Henry' indeed seems like a troll but mind you he has nothing to do with me. If you read his questions you will see the most randoms things most of which seem to be quoted from somewhere. It is possible that he found my thread and created some modified obscene version of my poster. In any case this doesn't justify your insisting attempts to expose me as the 'root of all evil'. If that helps my first name is Kurt.

I am starting to think that YOU are trolling my thread. You're the kind of troll who points fingers at every second thread yelling troll. I don't know Henry Tournere and I am certainly not French. No idea where this comes from. Now please if you think I am a troll then why don't you just ignore this thread or mute my posts in your settings or whatever.

Shot this in the car, uploading it quickly. Too lazy to actually put the Pentax strap on but you can see it clearly.

Hi everyone, I was gone for a few days because we didn't have internet here, we went to Sweden. Seriously if you want to think that I am feeding you lies then fine, I don't feel the need to prove myself to anyone... I'll post a picture of my D700 tomorrow. The whole thing is over and I am going back home, I'll see him again in August till September, apparently that's when there's the most work.

K-7 shall be my beloved back up. A question though, is the D700 weather sealed like the D300s or is it real weather sealing?

And here we go, something great happened to me and I'm being accused of being a troll. Well, if you don't want to believe me that's up to you since it makes no difference to me. If I were a 'troll' I would not have posted details about my trip in a topic which started out as something else but related. Isn't the aim of trolls to get lots of views and answers and flamewars? I think a troll would have created a separate thread. I have nothing to do with 'Wendy' nor do I have time to waste 'trolling the internet'... Believe whatever you want but please, instead of taking over this thread and accusing me of being a troll go read another thread and ignore this one...

I chose the D700. We are going to pick it up today and then I got an outdoor shoot with the girls. It's very cold! Also I seem to have been mistaken, I'm not getting all these lenses, I get to choose my favourite two. Well I feel like going for the 85mm and the 50mm 1.4
