There was a lot more available a decade or so ago. I got a 4X5 enlarge for $30 that had been donated by the city police, got a darkroom for the sink for 30 bucks, 4 current top end enlarging lenses for free and a 57 Elwood enlarge for free.

Yep that is the older method, couldn't remember all the letters in its name. My Nikon CS8000 is hooked up to a computer running Vista. Scanning and loading podcasts is about all I do with that computer, and i guess storing emails.

One disadvantage of older scanners may be the interface. My Nikon 8000 for example uses a firework and some scanners even older methods.

What Does Your "Significant Other" Think Of The Pentax Brand?

My wife is the main reason we stayed with Pentax rather than going to Nikon. At the time she got her first dslr I worked at a 0 lace where we shot Nikon plus had a huge number of Nikkor lenses for the high speed cameras but we had started with Spotmatic F the Sf1 and she wanted to stay with Pentax. She would still be using the K10D if she hadn't broken 8t in Havana and since then she has a K5 with no interest in upgrading. She would rather have another pinhole camera than a new digital camera.

She occasionally also shoots large format and Hasselblad but usually prefers Holgas and Dianas.

I process her film and she prints my colour digital images however she is fully capable of developing and printing in the darkroom when she wants.

She is much finer with me buying gear than selling it too. She might be a keeper, her 50 year probationary period is up in 2025.

More Limited lenses

A D FA limited would no more need to be compatible with a film camera than is the DA limited. Unless they came out with a compact DA 150 limited with a 49mm filter size I have all the Limiteds I am ever going to have however if I owned the K1, limiteds wider than the 31 are needed. Compact quality lenses around say 17 and 25 and updating the 3 existing ones would provide Pentax shooters with something unique and good.

But if they are expanding the line what will you buyers call them as there will be more than the 3 amigoes and with not knowing just how many, the battle on this forum for a new name will be quite intense.

Imagine it will be DA F limiteds. The most needed, especially wider than 31mm. Not that I see myself needing more than the 4 DA Limiteds I now have.

I've had the so call import expert at Canadian Tire spend 5 minutes looking for where the ignition was in my Saab 900. I think I was getting new windshield wipers and it was raining. The lens release is not as easy to spot on the K01 as other Pentaxs, rude or ignorant remarks are easy to spot.

I too will stay with Pentax. I have stayed with Hasselblad and never even started with them much before they discontinued production of the V system.

If I was to outlive my Pentax digital gear I would buy a bridge or compact camera or something like that as by then I should be close to 80 or 90 years old.

And a tablet was a smallish flat piece of rock you would chisel in letters. I can say that cause 50 years ago I was only in Grade 11.

DA70 vs Tamron 90

I have the DA70 and my wife the Tamron macro. The later is totally useless shooting action for example. The 70 is also so much smaller. 8 just borrow the 90 when I want to shoot macro.

If I remember correctly from a podcast, when all his Nikon gear was stolen and he decided to switch to Canon he stated that they gave him a good price. I know a previous job I had we paid dealers prices and it was very good for lenses, saved several thousand dollars on a single lens.

He did state on a video that he had converted to f4 lenses as he aged stricktly due to the weight difference. Easier on his knees.

Art Wolfe now uses the Canon f4 lenses, due to weight. If the quality of a f4 lens is good enough for Art Wolfe it should be good enough for most who post here.

London Drugs carry Pentax, not sure how far east that chain goes. Although they don't have that many models it's also the only place in town to see any canon or nikon above the lowest entry level.

Worth getting the Pentax 15mm HD if you have the Pentax 21MM lens already?

Yes that is exactly what it means. I started with the 15, then the 70 then I needed the 21 and having the 3 limited I replaced my Da 35 2.4 with the 40 limited. It does not matter it which order you buy them but buy them you must.

With it being a relatively minor upgrade and the option of the upgrade, I doubt that Pentax will be banking on huge addition sales. That and the upgrade requires less development that would a more major one, the developers should have more resources to be working on the K3 replacement. Or on the 645.

I sold mine on this forum a year or so for the low 300 and even at that it took a couple of weeks. Sold 8t because I am certain I am not going FF (enjoy MF and LF too much) and the DA21 was a better fit for me. 8 certainly would have kept that if a K1 mk whatever was in my future.

Shouldn't a company be required to release a model on the same day as a rumour is started and with the same specs as the rumour speculates?

When I went to Yellowstone I borrowed a Nikon 200-400 f4 lens from a friend who told me that i should just use a wide angle lens (he tries very hard to sound like a jerk but he is there for you when you need him). I used that lens shooting a grizzly but then 8 also took a shoot with my wife's Sigma 10-20 at 10 mm on my Kr and sent him a copy. He did not even know there was a bear in the image until I mentioned it. Your deer was a much better subject for ultra wide than that bear. ☺

Under that logic Pentax should simply stop selling FF until a totally new model comes out, as everyone who would buy a FF has already done so.
