I enjoy my Z10. Sure, the app ecosystem isn't as developed but overall it's a good phone.

For me, recommending an iPhone or Android is like recommending a Canon or Nikon DSLR ;)

The free "level" app on my PlayBook can be reset to zero when the PB is on a level surface. It would have saved Pentax a fair bit of warranty work if you could set the levels in the camera manually.

Poll: PC or Mac?

This is hardly an issue any more. Most drivers are installed automatically from the internet when you connect a printer or other device. But I will say that any time you need to support thousands of devices there's bound to be a hiccup or two along the way. The simplicity of the Mac comes partly from needing to support way fewer 3rd party devices = less choice for the consumer.

As a computer tech, most of the viruses I see infecting Windows machines got there not because of a vulnerability in the OS, but a vulnerability in the user. Most viruses are installed because the user is tricked into thinking they're installing something legitimate. The user is essentially giving the virus permission to install itself. We'll see this on Macs too.

I personally never found Mac OS to be intuitive. But that's me personally. Just like I prefer to drive stick instead of an automatic. Just like I chose Pentax over Canon.

I also don't like being confined to the "Apple way". I like choice. I like flexibility.

BH Sending used item as brand new item?

A lot of stores track product via serial number for warranty purposes.

At my computer store we did it to track which supplier a part came from and when we ordered it. It also prevents customers from buying a lens and swapping the item bought from someone else and trying to scam a refund out of the retailer.
